Is your coathanger tough enough for leathers? Mine isn’t frown

So, I’m wondering about the BKS heavy-duty hanger versus the Grip Puppy World’s Strongest Clothes Hanger. It’s a first-world problem to end all first-world problems, but can you help?

Look at diving gear/wetsuit hangers. Something like this is strong enough for scuba kit, leathers, body armour etc.

The one that came with my leathers seems to work fine, looks like the same sort of plastic one that hangs up dozens of leathers in every bike shop in the world every day without fail

Hangers are £6 seperately

+1!
Great piece of kit - VERY heavy duty. Just don't try mounting it on a plasterboard wall...........

It's my plasterboard wall that's off-putting. So, I might try the Worlds Strongest Clothes Hanger because no coathanger is too strong for the modern gentleman.

I use the biker tidy ones. Got my jeans, leathers, jackets, gloves all hanging off them. They do clips for gloves, a bit OTT (a clothes peg would do the same!) but they were cheap at a bike show. They are solid and well built. I have 3 pairs of trousers on one of them, so no issues with weight.

I have 2 of the standalone biker tidy racks in different configurations, work great, very stable, have 2 persons kit on it, plus suits, 4 helmets etc. Good quality and VFM. Will last a lifetime.

Ikea - £4 for 8 wooden hangers. jacket and trousers on each..

My missus wanted me to keep my helmet and gear in the garage but the first time I did this five minutes after setting off a spider descended on to my right cheekpad so that ain't happening again yikes

this thread has prompted me to get the hanger and a cover for my 1 piece leathers which havent been worn for 2 years and have been sat gathering dust.

The bikertidy rack was on the list for this years NEC show, maybe ill indulge in that later in the year.

For some reason it's branded as 'Water Proof' - it would be, it's plastic and some sort of alloy - but its very beefy, wide, won't stretch the shoulders of whatever you hang on it and it just does a good job.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-Universal-Wets...

Incidentally you can get large hangers which have an electric fan built in so your jacket/leathers/wetsuit etc will dry quicker - sold under the brand HangAir, but ridiculously overpriced at £70-£80.

There's a frame of 4x2 studwork behind it. Get a piece of 12mm plywood or MDF that's just large enough to mount the bikertidy onto. Fix this with long screws directly into the studwork, and it will take loads of weight. You can then attach the bikertidy to the plywood backing with toggle bolts or hollow-wall expanding anchors.

Sorry if you already knew this, not meaning to teach granny to suck eggs. But bikertidy is blimming fantastic, I've got the wall-mounted "Big One" in the garage and it keeps all my gear erm... tidy, right where I want it. Highly recommended (and the hangers are absurdly strong as separate accessories).

(PS: I reckon the BKS hangers are sourced from BikerTidy. Design and construction identical)

Too late! I’ve just bought the Grip Puppy clothes hangar. But I shall report back if it has the strength of a chihuahua or bulldog puppy.
