I assume this has been covered in the thread already, but it’s long and I don’t have time to read it. I thought the point of masks wasn’t to stop you catching it, but to help prevent you spreading it if you happen to have it?

Has this been shown to be wrong?

Normally I’d agree possibly scaremongering but as the media seems to be being implemented as a pre warning system this last month I’d say this is imminent.
Yes, I've noticed a pattern, too... but maybe that's just because I'm mistrustful of the government and media - uncomfortable bedfellows usually, but at the moment they can't help but 69-each other in a frenzied masturbatory covid-clinch.

It does raise the question, though... is st like this a genuine leak, is it bled purposefully to monitor public opinion, or is it a government unsure of which way to turn and taking it's direction from media (social and mainstream)? Either way, the answer is not acceptable.
I’d veer towards no.1 but either could be possible.

My opinion of government has never been so low. It’s as if they do things that are deliberately negative consistently but tell us it’s for our own benefit. Akin to punching your wife in the face while telling her you love her..

Stick it to the man brother, stick it to the man. A patchy sun tan is a strange hill to plant your flag on, but if the aesthetics of skin pigmentation mean so much to you, why not.

My office have agreed none of us are wearing seat belts or crash helmets and we are smoking weed every lunch time, indoors, now we know these kind of things are merely suggestions that can be overturned on a whim. We also insist on nudity on sunny days for that all over bronzed adonis look, having agreed to not subscribe to indecent exposure laws any longer....

So a number of studies are coming out that are saying after contracting Covid 19 there may well be NO lasting immunity

Does that mean that if/when we get a vaccine we will need to re inoculated on a regular basis, say every 3-6 months.

You're correct.

But we're 58 pages in now, wowsers. This area of the forum isn't great.

It’s no coincidence that the UK has BY FAR the highest COVID death rate in the World. It’s full of dick heads who all tragically think they know better.
We don't.

Oh silly me. The UK is third only to the statistical anomaly of San Marino, and the sprawling megopolis of Belgium. That’s alright then isn’t it? Absolutely nothing to worry about! Can’t have Johnny bloody Foreigner showing us up, so anything that paints a dismal picture for the UK is obviously using deeply flawed data so it should be ignored. laugh

You do know the Oxford vaccine is being produced at cost don't you?

Occasionally I sometimes doubt my sanity, then I look at threads like this one and realise there are people with way worse mental health problems than any I may have.

You don't think that vaccinating billions of people every few months for a disease that probably wouldn't harm them anyway could just possibly be lining a pocket or two?

I'd investigate those doubts a bit further.

I swear, the Government is no longer actually governing. It is simply giving the public what the polls tell them the public wants.

Shameful.

If I was you I would stop stating supposition as fact. No one knows just how effective a vaccine may or may not be.

How long do we think the muzzle wearing bks will go on for?
Schools go back some 6 weeks after muzzle D-Day: perhaps they will insist on school kids wearing the damn things, & therefore teachers? School buses are going to be interesting enough as it is......
I really hope this nonsense gets overturned ASAP, or perhaps someone in HMG has vested interests in the mask factory that is apparently ramping up production just in time for next week??
Our workplace has already agreed that if muzzles are mandated in offices, we will not comply.
Several staff have cancelled holidays in Spain, as the thought of sun bathing with a muzzle is utterly ridiculous: can you imagine returning home with a perfectly bronzed body, apart from a rectangular white patch in the middle of your face?!?!?!

Couple of solutions.
Beards could be compulsory, it will avoid the embarrassment though how you get a patch in the middle of your face I don't know.
Ladies can buy false beards.

Shops can sell makeup to match the rest of the tan for when you are swaning around the office in the nude and want all your colours to match. They could do lobster red all the way to an anaemic white to match your socks.

And its going to be distributed and administered at cost too?

Righto, of course it is. Silly me.

No one is suggesting we do. Only that some people / companies will do very well out of any vaccine program. Whether its effective or not is unlikely to be of any concern to those set to make from it.

They’re only Muzzles if you don’t actually know what a Muzzle is.

Unless you think there is a biting issue among the general public?

They don’t need a new name as face masks is a perfectly useable one

yes Within a sane error range we are about the same as Spain or Italy, maybe even Sweden. Probably Anders Tegnell was correct and we'll end up all about the same (demographics aside).
