Please stop quoting death rates as some sort of point.

As far as I know we are the only country in the world to send covid patients into un protected care homes.

Our death rate is so high because Cummings and Co don't give a st about old sick people.

Oh silly me. The UK is third only to the statistical anomaly of San Marino, and the sprawling megopolis of Belgium. That’s alright then isn’t it? Absolutely nothing to worry about! Can’t have Johnny bloody Foreigner showing us up, so anything that paints a dismal picture for the UK is obviously using deeply flawed data so it should be ignored. laugh

I pity the statistician tasked with twisting that data to show a correlation between draconian lockdown and reduced death rates.

confused

Death rates in carehomes have been high in most countries in Europe. Primarily because they are full of elderly frail people and this has primarily been a disease of institutions.

Yes the government made things worse but if you think the UK is uniquely bad you need to look at places like Spain.

As well as the numbers not being comprised solely of people who have died from CV-19.

New York did that too. Plus maybe a couple of other US states. but I don't remember which.

“Muzzle”

It’s like when a kid learns a new swear word, and has to keep on using it to try and outrage listeners.
Isn’t it just, makes the person referring to muzzles sound like an American fringe religious loon. Next it’ll be “interfering with Gods breathing apparatus”!

But then again, maybe it’s not, maybe these people are a bit “bitey” (like Louis Suarez or Dennis Wise, for example)?

This morning Matt Hancock denied that face masks would become mandatory in offices. So it's coming then.

Hancock announces the "temporary" having to wear masks in shops legislation will be for the "foreseeable future". I guess he means until Nicola Sturgeon says it's okay! laugh

I saw the same interview, and also listened to why Hancock said the need for face coverings in the workplace differed to the need for face coverings in a retail environment and could understand why Hancock stated what he did.

It will be interesting to see if face coverings in the workplace become a thing, and who makes it a thing, the employers or the Govt.

At a guess, if it's the employer making it a thing it will gain traction, and inevitably the Govt will no doubt be the fall guy as to why it came about.

If you have to wear a muzzle in a shop for 10 mins but not in an office for 8 hours then this government is even thicker than I think they are.

It will be mandatory everywhere.

Ps I don't personally have a problem with wearing a mask. I have a problem with being lied to about the reasoning.

No surprise there then. And the mask lovers on here told us it's no biggie and will only be temporary.

Remember the three week lockdown to "Protect the NHS" and "Flatten the curve"?

Everything has been portrayed as no biggie and temporary.

So a number of studies are coming out that are saying after contracting Covid 19 there may well be NO lasting immunity

Does that mean that if/when we get a vaccine we will need to re inoculated on a regular basis, say every 3-6 months.
Bonanza time for Big pharma and Bill Gates!
I’m sure there’ll be no health hazard (or at least no legally recompensible one) by repeatedly vaccinating everyone on the planet every few months for the rest of their natural lives.

For what to most is a minor illness..

No profit or ulterior motives here... move along....

Whitty reiterated the message given at the start (long haul) of the daily briefings only a couple of weeks ago, but people have short memories when there are other agendas at play.

Matt Hancock quoted again: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/matt-hancock-fa...

However, article says: 'Supporters of a blanket rule on wearing face coverings in all public places argue it is far easier to understand, and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is in discussion with employers, The Telegraph reports'

So we're going down to the lowest common denominator, as usual. Government 'policy'......
