Its much better than 'tags' and normally on the money, like a newspaper satirical cartoonist.
I appreciate it and find it interesting. So there you go.

I've always liked graffiti, and 'Style Wars' is one of my favourite ever documentaries.
(If you haven't watched Style Wars, you need to watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4jniA9QsNI)
Banksy is, for me, a cut above standard graffiti as his work always carries a clever political message or social commentary. I like it
I don't think TFL were in on this one, they do not want to promote any kind of graffiti in/on their trains. Plus they have cleaned it off very promptly. If you read Banksy's books, he goes into detail about how you can pretty much get away with 'working' absolutely anywhere as long as you wear 'work clothing', a hard hat, high vis, and have an 'ID card' of some description hanging round your neck.
There are loads of tube stations where you pretty much won't see anyone on the way in, and even if there is a hapless TFL employee watching the ticket gates, they won't be interested in someone in full 'workmen' outfit and high vis... They will assume they are working.
But yeah, shame trains aren't painted like they used to be. Nothing gets me much more excited than a fully bombed subway car showcasing some lovely scrolls or wildstyle

You have to be a little bitter to not see that as a positive thing.
I'm not bitter he is great at what he does and have no problem him being a millionaire off the back of it. I think as i posted earlier funny, because the joke is on the person buying it he knows that. I think someone posted they had bought a limited edition signed print, ffs this is not what is about.

Slightly on topic still but how is he not totally outed yet, I mean I know there are a couple of names claimed to be him but honestly in 2020 how can someone still command such secrecy?
There are numerous photos and videos of him 'at work', but it appears to be at least two different people, which have others have suggested lends credibility to the theory that he has some staff or 'junior artists' to carry out or help with some of his stencil work.It is generally accepted that Banksy is Robin Gunningham.

Does he actually make money from this?
no .I enjoyed his film and i think the quotes he himself, made about people that buy his 'art' sums it up for me.
''I Can't Believe You Morons Actually Buy This st".
“Graffiti art has a hard enough life as it is, before you add hedge-fund managers wanting to chop it out and hang it over the fireplace. For the sake of keeping all street art where it belongs, I’d encourage people not to buy anything by anybody, unless it was created for sale in the first place.”
If he took all his money and burnt it or gave away i would respect his points, but when you make comments with 50 million behind you, a team of artists making your work, does it not become a bit disingenuous to mock those who fund your lifestyle?

I'll get some Van-Gogh replicas, too! It'll be just like the real thing...
'Mobile lovers' sold for over £400,000, which all went to a youth club that was on the verge of closing.

Don't you fking start on Helch, the ing tt. Ruined that bridge. "Give peas a chance" used to make me smile on my way home, as I'm sure it did a few others.
Your just a philistine who doesn’t appreciate real art. His meta graffiti was next level. But yes he needs shooting for fking up that bridge.
I don’t do the south but I knew where I was when I hit that bridge
I dunno. It all looks a bit anguished sixth form art project to me. Don’t get me wrong some of it is clever but it’s way overhyped for some reason.
Also - the railway spends a LOT of money cleaning up graffiti and discouraging it but then send a totally mixed message by protecting a Banksy artwork on a wall.

Agreed, if you just look at the signature, it looks crap, but have those criticising his work seen the video which covers all of it? Very clever, IMO...

Using the disinfectant spray pump instead of the usual spray paint was particularly inspired, if you ask me.

Presumably this was done with the permission of the carriage owners?
Seems highly likely to me, the world of paint manufacturing is firmly headed towards water based paint with durability of cellulose, but this looks like kinder garden poster paint to me - it was planned with the intention that it could be easily removed. The streaking lines look like some project on Blue Peter, not quite the brave approach that defines his usually excellent sharp and inventive work.Got a lot of time for him though, he’s up there with the greats of our generation & I genuinely think people will appreciate his work for many years to come - Very few people could suggest that his work is boring or lacks thought.

Exit through the gift shop js a wonderful film , up there with Spinal Tap as an expose of life imitating art imitating life. Well worth a watch if you like this sort of stuff!!
The bloke, he is making millions with his studio art. It is hard to know who the joke is on.He sells stuff and makes films as an artist, and makes money - everyone is happy.
His public/street pieces often fall into the hands of people who then sell them to willing buyers - the buyers and sellers are happy.
People like me enjoy looking at both his street art in real life and in photos, and I occasionally buy his photo books such as 'Wall and Piece' - everyone is happy
