The story they give (if they truly are giving that story) about wanting to come here because we speak English as a first language is utter rubbish.
I watched them interviewing "Immigrants" in Dunkirk on the news last night......they weren't speaking in English to the journalist but adamant they "had to get to the UK"
Language is one of the explanations for their choice of destination. The other is connections here, but that only comes via their friends or relatives having previously migrated here. but then who did their forebears know here? We aren't talking about people whose ancestors came as part of organised resettlement.

The counter argument is that we're a soft touch, which people will dispute on the basis that we take few migrants compared to the rest of Europe. But that's because were the geographically the farthest not because we stop or deport more of them
Don't know about a soft touch but last time I looked we didn't have any asylum seekers sleeping in tents and camps.

Which shows that what these people might say to a survey taker may not necessarily be the whole truth. If you were coming here primarily because of the prevalence of spoken English they why would you not speak English to a British journalist?

I don’t often agree with the Secretary of State for Transylvanian affairs, but her idea of sending them all to St.Helena does have a certain ring to it.

70 Albanians found on a trawler off Great Yarmouth yesterday. Sounds like a big operation went on. They are all in Border Force custody apparently (coming to a town near you when they don't report back in)

A bit like Turks, they are not in the EU nor do they appear to be at war, and yet there does appear to be a lot in the country.

Once they reach land they will be staying.....

“ Councils are being overwhelmed by asylum seekers because the Home Office is moving hundreds of claimants into hotels in their areas without their knowledge, the spending watchdog has said.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) cited cases in which up to 160 asylum seekers had been booked into three-star hotels in a local area without councils or health authorities being warned so that they could prepare local services and avoid being overwhelmed.

It follows the disclosure this week by The Telegraph that nearly 10,000 asylum seekers are being housed in up to 100 hotels across the UK – nine times the number in March – following a surge in migrants reaching the UK in small boats crossing the Channel.”

You do know the Donald never got round to finishing that wall. So it's pretty much like the Maginot Line.

Is it safe to assume 8000-9000 of them are male? I believe so, based on the figures and anecdotal footage all over YouTube. I suspect these figures could easily be many times that.

I can imagine parachuting so many people in such large numbers is going to leave a lot of males seeking relationships/partners (with women having a similar outlook on life)who just aren’t there for them. That isn’t going to end well.

A potential solution is for them to go back home.

Perhaps you'd feel right at home in Portland or Seattle.
