Please forward your opinions on how we could improve these poor folks home countries first please? If you are unable to discuss or even suggest how you would stop folk from making such a journey then it's utterly pointless engaging with you.

Ask yourself, has the "War on Drugs" been deemed a success? Without taking away the market place, you are simply kicking the can down the road and achieving little. Is that what you want?
You made a point and i questioned it, surely it falls to you to address that ?

We could Increase foreign aid !

By how much ?

There is no point engaging with you.
So nothing to offer other than that. As I assumed, it's pointless engaging with you as you have nothing to offer. Good day to you.
As a neutral onlooker, Porsche has politely asked a valid question, Unknown has avoided it, asked his own question, then had a bit of a paddy when it wasn’t answered.

Round 1 to Porsche, case closed, next please. :-)

Or maybe increase Foreign Aid to improve the chances these folk in their home countries so they don't feel the need to undertake such a perilous journey in the first place!

Or maybe that idea doesn't sell as many copies of the Daily Wail and Daily Excrete or resonate with the right wing tory factions Prime Minister Johnson likes to attract.....
Why do you think this country should be paying to uplift living standards in other countries? Laughable.

So you do not believe in helping those who have less than you?

I hope you never need to rely on the state because I would rather my taxes where not spent on you.

Surely you can recognise the difference between the U.K. looking after the U.K., and some unrealistic concept of raising living standards for millions in other countries ?

I would prefer my taxes spent on issues in the U.K. than spending millions trying to raise living conditions in other countries.

As I said, it would require the combined effort of lots of countries.

And “laughable”? Is that what you think helping others is?

Yes, once we've helped every single person in this country that we are able to, including millions that were born elsewhere. Put down your flag of virtue vile creature.

I believe some disadvantaged folk will always look elsewhere for a better, more prosperous life but pretending we can stop migration with militarised borders or far right rhetoric is naive, bordering on stupidity IMO.
Do you lock your house door or do you just let anyone come into your house, if so why ?

Er, nope I don’t always lock my house door as I don’t live in fear. And if somebody came to my door looking for help I would try to assist.

Should I assume you would maybe turn away someone that needed help?

Would you expect them to stay and for you to feed and cloth them? How many can you take ?
And yes I lock my doors as most normal people do, I hope you have told your insurance company of your policy , I am sure they will be sympathetic to your viewpoint.

If a distressed soul required shelter and some food then I’d do my best to assist.

Would you turn a victim of domestic violence back towards the person that assaulted them?

If you struggle to tell the difference between a soul in desperate need of assistance and a powerfully built company director lurking around my back garden then I’m afraid your beyond help!

So you know the history of the people who enter your house, the only person I remember randomly knocking on my door turned threatening, so yes I would turn them away along with contacting the police.
