In our hour of need Brits need re-assurances that the Lib Dems. can help pick up the pieces at the next election.

Here he is in all of his glory on Nick Ferrari for 30 minutes.

It is therefore re-assuring to me as a voter that Ed has chosen this moment (29 minutes 30 seconds) to respond to the question of our times....

'what is a woman?'.

His answer was some women could have a penis
Technically correct, if they are called Lorena Bobbit for example. Not very common though.

Let's not forget that previous leader Jo Swinson enjoyed a bit of a luxury spa break on the coin of a German gender 'affecting' drug manufacturer.

They must just have liked her....

Indeed. It's a shame as the Lid Dems often seem to offer a decent protest vote option against the Tories or Labour. But then they get caught up in this type of virtue signalling nonsense and one can't see how anybody in their right mind could vote for them.

It's not "virtue signalling" (awful phrase), but it is a minefield definitely best avoided.

I'd prefer politicians to focus on issues that affect the country, economy and population at large. Whilst of course treating all people with dignity as far as it goes/is practical.

My (then 11/12yo) daughter was under the misapprehension a couple of years ago that transgender was very common, as it was so prominent in the news/social media.

It is a bit typical of LD ability to shoot themselves in the foot that they had their “burst Boris bubble” successes and then managed to slip themselves back into obscurity. At a time when SKS isn’t managing to say much and the SNP is imploding, the LDs have been presented with an open field and open goal and they have…done nothing. Faded back into obscurity. Allowed themselves to be side lined again.
Woefully irritating! Stop allowing yourselves to be irrelevant also rans and if the damn arena is a vacuum…fill it!!!

Poor Ed. He comes out of hiding and throws himself under the Ferrari bus.

Jesus Christ. It's hardly the biggest issue the country's facing.

How about reading this for balance:

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/may/16/w...

Which story should be given the greatest weight in consideration of the man's character, beliefs and virtues?

It's not, but the right wing reactionaries love it because the other people can't agree on it.

At least he answered the question, unlike Starmer.

It's a bit of trap-door question if you ask me. IMO if you have a willy then you are a bloke, but I'm an old git so probably out of touch.

Love how all these frothy reactionary types insist we should be focusing on the things that really matter and then when they get a chance to interview a politician this is what they choose to ask.

Sadly, Sir Ed has to recognise his core supporters are a 'broad church' and the next generation of potential MP's from the pool of recently elected LibDems are this lot... possibly?

Good grief!

Interesting assumption.

It worked out well for Nicola Sturgeon.
I suspect it matters a great deal more than you would imagine…

It all seems like nonsense that doesn't make any difference in the "real world"......until male rapists are being housed in women's prisons and men dressed as women are abducting schoolgirls.

Why? He's abundantly aware already, because he isn't an idiot.

Why? Some women agree with him, some don't. Who am I to tell them what to think?
