Sir Ed Davey - Lib. Dem Leader

Say what you are thinking - what's the problem?
Apologies for my belated reply to your enquiry about my thoughts.A problem? I hadn't considered there was one, although I do consider the LIbDems have an issue with attracting voters, other than in local 'protest' elections and, given the selection of district councillors in that picture, I would suggest they aren't likely candidates for higher office given most of them are retired!
My only selection is the fellow at the centre back, my ward DC, and who I voted for. A possible candidate for Parliament who is a highly qualified Director of a local company, speaks four languages fluently, is a Champion Kick Boxer, and has a sense of humour!
Oh, by the way, he's Cameroonian, by heritage, and is well liked in our predominantly conservative community.
HTH?

The LIb Dems aren't just short on policies they are short on totty.
You may have, inadvertently, hit on the issue??It's not as if other political parties are filled with beautiful people, although typical over-grown public schoolboy PHers obviously want to be disciplined by Penny Mordant.

Lib Dem MPs don't appear to be particularly unattractive

The new fantasy, no doubt, is for her to spank them with the flat of that sword she was carrying It's not as if other political parties are filled with beautiful people, although typical over-grown public schoolboy PHers obviously want to be disciplined by Penny Mordant.

Excellent. Presumably the Spectator are worried about Lib Dems taking lots of Tory seats.
Ps. What is the point of Suella Braverman?
I am sorry I think you have mistaken me for a Tory party activist and that's an off topic question.
As the article quiet rightly points out, the opposition need to come up with something better than mumbling on about Michelle Mone whilst posting on social media from, their £5m house in Oxfordshire countryside about sub-saharan migrant LGBTQ+ issues.

Rishi Sunak has a few quid, I hear.
It's mostly general, non-Horizon related about Ed.
Julie Burchill has written a quite brilliant article in the Spectator about Ed and the Lib Dems.

"'Davey is foul; with a face like a Cornish pasty without any filling, his political career is a litany of making light of the worries and cares of the ordinary voter.......in favour of green policies which would see the working class shivering by candlelight in 15-minute ghettos....."

This is quite incredible. Prior to the 2 posts above, the last time something was added to this thread dedicated to Ed was early November.
Despite being leader of a political party his own thread boasts few posts.
That's a little unfair, Ed has almost as many stalwart defenders on PH as Rishi.Despite being leader of a political party his own thread boasts few posts.

He was hoping that the party could fly under the radar and attract the Nimby, Rejoin vote but 'events' have taken over.Despite being leader of a political party his own thread boasts few posts.

It's not a brilliant article. It makes some relevant points, but conflates various things and exaggerates.
Ed Davey is not "foul". Bland maybe, and in a party that has gone too far down the bottomless rabbit hole of "identity politics", but "foul"?

I think the basis of the point is that Ed is living proof that, deep down, these types of politicians hate the working classes embodied in Ed's aloof refusal to meet with Mr.Bates at the time of the Horizon scandal and hear his case.
Ed now refuses to apologise for his behaviour.
I think the basis of the point is that you are desperate to discredit Ed Davey and the Lib Dems when the Tories have been so absolutely appalling over the last few years.Ed now refuses to apologise for his behaviour.
