So you went to a shop where you knew they would most likely ask you to wear a mask. You said no, but they served you anyway and even took your cash.

You then decided after paying for the food, you where too scared to eat it and left empty handed. I do wonder how some people function in life sometimes. confused
It’s utter spacktard behaviour. He’s probably wandering around with a pair of well used grundies on his head taking the place of a mask anyway.

And there is plenty of studies that say they do help. But it’s a bit of cloth over your face. It’s hardly an imposition.

But then this isn’t about the science. It’s about the attention and the wanting to feel superior for “sticking it to the man” and “not being a sheep”.
You are quite right in the second one. This isn't about the science. Real science doesn't turn on a sixpence when the politicians ask them to.

A little magic amulet and a nice, visible faithful/heretic indicator to be worn. A yellow star for the 21st century.

I don't know of anyone who has been fined, but I don't know of anyone who's refused to wear a mask, either.

I'm perplexed, though, as to why you think anyone is 'enjoying the experience'?
They don't enjoy wearing a mask, not by any means but they sure do enjoy showing others that its no problem to wear one.

I was at a friends rental house a couple of weeks ago doing a couple of jobs to get it ready for the market and he asked me to go to B&Q with him, I said I'll give it a miss as it would mean wearing a mask and I wont be doing that. He was a bit put out and thought that I should just abandon my principles to help him out, he then spent the next 10 minutes walking round his kitchen with a mask on to show me how simple it was.

I know he didn't enjoy it because he is a chain smoker and he was absolutely gasping for a fag by the time he took it off but it was worth it to him because he was able to show me what a selfless hero he was.

Edit :redacted, its just happened to me too.

You could have shown your mate just how useless these masks are.

You should have told him to take a drag on his ciggie, put the mask on and exhale normally.

Now, if they are effective, those huge, visible smoke molecules should all have been trapped in the mask. But I bet they wouldn't be.

So you disagree with the WHO?

"Masks are a key measure to suppress transmission and save lives. Masks reduce potential exposure risk from an infected person whether they have symptoms or not. People wearing masks are protected from getting infected. Masks also prevent onward transmission when worn by a person who is infected.

Masks should be used as part of a comprehensive ‘Do it all!’ approach including: physical distancing, avoiding crowded, closed and close-contact settings, improving ventilation, cleaning hands, covering sneezes and coughs, and more."

I wouldn’t have said I believe it but I would rather listen to what they have to say rather than all the armchair experts.

Masks really don’t bother most of the normal population for the small amount of time they are required to wear them.

It links to the 45 studies around the world that they used as sources. But your counter is well they are the centre for disease control so they are obviously going to want people to do something that does no good. Just like the WHO, PHE, RCS, BMA, ECDC. etc etc
I like all of those bodies was against the public wearing masks. Then they and I changed our view based on the evidence. Seems odd they were all suddenly happy to lie to the world in order to make it look as though they were wrong.

fk me what a dystopian experience I've just had. I probably eat more than my fair share of takeaways but I can't find a decent Chineese one anywhere local. A mate recommended a little one tucked away down a side street to me so I tried it tonight.

Now I might sound like I'm over exaggerating things but it really was the full on nuclear fall out experience. Walked in and there was counter to ceiling screens installed with a little plastic door in it, the woman behind it had a mask and a face shield on and immediately thrust a mask through the little door towards me saying wear please. I should have walked out there and then really but I said sorry I'm not going to wear a mask, she looked a little pissed off but took my order and I paid for it £8. I couldn't just hand her the money though I had to put it in a plastic bowl on the counter which she then took through the flap and returned the change in the same bowl.

It wasn't until I was in the off licence round the corner that it dawned on me that they probably thought that if I was prepared to give them a killer disease then they would probably try to give me one two and wipe the spare ribs round the toilet. So I went home empty handed. Contrast that with the off licence, little independent shop, not a mask in site, not even on the lady behind the counter, we had a civilised talk about the weather and I left smiling.

It's just a takeaway, can't they give it a rest just for a few minutes if a customer comes in without a mask? The place was empty anyway and after my experience I really hope it goes bust.

Yes I'm fully aware I could have simply work a mask but thats never going to happen for me and if shops want customers then they should appreciate that. People who submit to anything the government come up with will never understand my views on this and will call me a selfish prick etc but I'm now of the opinion that its just tough st if the government lovers end up on the streets now because of their actions.

Kind of, I know you are expected to wear a mask in a shop but I wrongly thought that it wouldn't be a problem as shops have bills to pay and they would be mad to antagonise a customer by telling him what to do. However it was obvious this wasn't to be the case as soon as I entered the shop, it was the full on covid exclusion zone, worse even than the Toolstation chicane of death cones.

As I will personally never wear a mask under any circumstances I told them I wouldn't put one on. It was only whilst I was in the shop down the road waiting for the takeaway to be cooked that it dawned on me that I had possibly upset or offended the takeaway staff.

Well, would you eat a takeaway after you had maybe upset the staff there? fk em anyway, plenty of other more accommodating takeaways around.

There is defiantly a group of people who are enjoying the ability to show everyone how virtuous thy are. There’s also some shop floor workers who are enjoying their new role as Covid/facemask/one way system Marshall’s.

What’s amusing is they hysterical reactions when you ignore their outrage.
The mask wearers are definitely not being defiant.

Indeed. Biden is a massive screaming Karen - I hope the US enjoys whatever crap he's going to come up with although even some of his advisors have rolled back on the suggestion of blanket national lockdown that was initially being suggested.

With respect to masks - well if they are so bloody effective why the bleeding heck do outbreaks keep happening in hospital settings? That's where mask wearing is probably at it's highest in general adherence. And compare that to outbreaks in shops/,pubs when still open which were hardly any.

Masks probably do reduce the chance to get infected slightly but net effect ends up negligible as if you're only in passing contact with someone as per a shop, you're very unlikely to get it but if you're in an enclosed reasonably crowded space you are likely to get it mask or no mask.

And then you heard a little guy shouting "da plane boss, look, da plane".

fk me, you keep trotting out this made up horse shyte incidents. All these incidents always seem to happen to you, don't they, no one else? If they are even vaguely true, you must be a completely inept person, on every level to struggle so much with the basic tasks like buying a takeaway? How do you manage to dress yourself of a morning? Do you need your mum to tuck your shirt in? laugh
You are a total and utter fantasist Walt! And it is not even entertaining anymore.
First time in a while I've opened this thread and it's still the same people posting the same garbage.

I can't help but agree with your observations Paul. I think Scotty has some serious issues. He's either some weirdo internet fantasist , or someone that really has deep rooted real life issues.

Either way Scotty is needing some help.

I'm fine but thanks for your concern anyway, how about I post a bit of video of my takeaway journey so I can finally get your approval I desperately covet, or a picture of the Mersey flow warrant you also seem to cast scorn on. Anything else you want to put me to proof on you say hasn't happened then just ask away.

My only deep rooted attribute is the ability to tell other people to fk off, its a skill so many people are desperate for but only can only ever manage I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

It's clearly a skill that doesn't help you. It's not normal to find yourself having the difficulties you do. You come across as an immature, difficult and unreasonable person on here.

Your stories get picked apart and you're constantly being called out as a bullstter. Even when there might be a sliver of truth in your posts people don't believe you and I'm sure most of us are just fed up reading your posts. You need to grow up.

Speaking for everyone are you, why on earth would you see a topic that I've posted and then read it knowing you will be annoyed at it, its not compulsory to be pistonheads top thread reader you know. Believe it or not it up to you but I'm sure you already know that it wont bother me in the slightest whatever people think.

How about you check my fantasy out with the takeaway, I'm sure they will remember me. Go on, I dare you.

Oh Lord, Devi Sridhar.........if ever there was an example of how malign an influence these "expert advisors" have become, it's her. She's no more medically qualified than my cat, yet gets the ear of Wee Nippy Sturgeon. She espouses a zero covid strategy and would love us to copy South Korea. You know, the South Korea that follows citizens on CCTV, that tracks their mobile phone signal and their card transactions. She a control freak with a zero covid fetish and should be ignored in any sane world.

And yet Mike Yeadon, a man of experience and knowledge, gets "cancelled" by social media because he dares to challenge the orthodoxy. Crazy times.

I don’t know why you think that the take-away post was untrue, it’s just bizarre.

Go into a take-away, deliberately ps off the people who are preparing your food, pay for the food, and then worry about the risk that they might have responded badly so waste the food/money.

Why would someone make that up when it makes them look, perhaps, a little silly?

She’s an authoritarian with a cute face and a love of the limelight. At this point I’m sick of seeing her pop up everywhere. With the PCR test as it is her zero COVID idea is utterly impossible. She must know that.
