Off topic a bit but I look at the front pages of the Newspapers on the BBC every morning and the Daily Star seems to have become very political this year. They are like the Daily Mirror now but with more girls with big T*ts.

Any story there?, Boris annoyed the proprietor in some way?
Same group as The Express who I don't think you can say are especially anti-Boris.

I wonder if it's possible the Daily Star just think he's a bit st?

And yet, this seemingly happens to you on every single subject in the thread.

You remind me of an old Uni friend who could never understand why every time he went out, someone started a fight with him. He just never figured out what the common factor was.
And you and you mates remind me of playground bullies.
Aww diddums. Do you need a handkerchief and a cuddle?

Ben Bradley epitomises the very worst of tory ideology, he is an utter disgrace and he should resign immediately. He is an utter disgrace.
I don't think he should resign as an MP simply because of his views and opinions.

At the end of the day he's been elected so it's for the local electorate to form a view on that.

He's got previous for things he's said in the past and they still voted for him.
I don’t think he should resign either.

I think he’s a massive though.

Ultimately, the problem is that people like him just don’t care that much. He’s clearly happy to sort of >makes circling gesture with hand< generalise ‘The Poor‘ as lazy, drug addicts and drunks because it just doesn’t matter that much to him.

His constituents seem not to mind.

Sad.

I realise you are just trolling for reaction, but using the very real problem of food poverty to do that is a very bad reflection on you.
Food poverty?

Bet these starving children have iphones though.

I think he should be fired out of a cannon without a safety net and with a triple charge.

No need for him to resign then.

They're part of Reach PLC.

Like I said they run brands like The Express so I don't think it's quite as simple as you're suggesting.

Yes, don't pay any attention to the overly owner influenced, populist press.

That old thing about sunlight being the best disinfectant leaps to mind.

The more you can read their views the better IMO and places like Twitter give them the most amazing opportunity to just keep on digging.

The obvious explanation rofl

Nobody could possibly be genuinely interested in scratching beneath the surface and seeking understanding, it's clearly an act! Stick to emotive, specious arguments Tuna, like the rest of our GoodFaith™ posters. Bonus points if, when challenged, you just say that you're not bothered enough to actually read up on it (and then proceed to make another 40 specious surface level posts on the same topic) wobble
Or, just take a second to read the room and think “maybe taking a contrarian stance every single time, just to show how internet cool I am isn’t the best plan when I find myself arguing with people about child food poverty, purely because I’m incapable of ever just agreeing with some posters.”

It’s really that simple.

I think it’s pretty obvious to all but the most emotionally retarded, that the Conservative party has handled the optics of this incredibly badly. Of COURSE child poverty is a hugely complex issue and OF COURSE there are many ways to skin this particular cat, but trying to defend the party who have seemingly taken a stand against both feeding kids, and the restaurants that are stepping in to do their job for them, is a very curious position to take.

It’s really about how you prioritise your response.

A normal person:

1. Poverty bad
2. Well done to Rashford and The restaurants
3. Poor show by the Tories
4. I’m sure there are other solutions

Tuna:

1. Defend Tory policy
2. Argue that people are over-simplifying or over-emoting
3. There’s better ways to spend the money
4. Stop calling me names
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
5. Oh, yeah, poverty bad

Sympathy for the people caught up in this plays a very distant second fiddle to defending the workings of government and winning the argument in Tuna’s (and by extension, yours I suppose) world.

Which is fine, but then don’t cry about bullies calling you not very nice things. A bit of empathy goes a long way.

I'm not bothered. He can spout as much sanctimonious claptrap as he likes.

There is no child starvation or food poverty epidemic in the UK and anyone claiming there is, is lying. The government, aka the tax payers, provides billions of free money to parents.

You say he reflects the worst of Tory ideology, when in one instance he reflected the worst of human nature. He's not representative, and isn't a spokesman for free school meals vouchers. There are outspoken individuals in all parties at any one time.

A link to the definitive tory ideology manual would be good, could you post one? TIA. It must be headed 'Tory Ideology Manual' to avoid any doubt.

Being so impacted by the deleted tweet born of a foolish moment must be exhausting, all that vexation. As a general observation it remains curious that detractors are affected so deeply by this outlier type of incident - not that the critical use of extreme language reflects tactical faux outrage of course as it's totally genuine.

Another reason to be OK with having nothing at all to do with twitter or facebook or (etc). Reading a very, very small amount of their dross when it gets posted on PH is more than enough. Force for good potentially, source of dreck from drecksters far more frequently.

True but this is the chap that said unemployed people should get sterilised FFS.

Why would any political party want someone with such views representing their party? And why would his constituents vote for such a charlatan?

Well the obvious answer there is they thought he was better than any of the alternatives on offer.

It's the Trump parallel which is however awful Bradley might seem if nobody could come up with anyone more appealing who do you point the finger at for that?

And I think we know from past experience there's an issue with all political parties about the standards they expect (or don't expect) from the people who represent them.

Yay, Bradley's defenders have arrived!

Here's something for you to consider. A few years ago when yet more hateful language from this individual surfaced, Bradley apologised, saying “My time in politics has allowed me to mature and I now realise that this language is not appropriate,”.

Now, has he learnt from that? Has he bks. He doubled down and tried to deflect the rightful criticism he is facing. And see my above post about sterilisation for parts of the population. Can you think of any other political ideology that considered mass sterilisations?

But hey, you defend him if that is your desire.
