Jesus that's shocking, and I'm not easily offended! I'm hoping he was hacked as that's definite "cancel" material.
I'm willing to bet he hasn't been hacked.

I think he is going for the Katie Hopkins 'Racist shock jock' approach, as quite frankly, he doesn't have anything else left to try.

After the Sainsbury's incident he threatened to sue anyone who called him a racist. Judging by his Twitter replies, he's going to have his work cut out this time.

I did quite like "Waitrose Tommy Robinson" as an insult, though.

Found it. What an absolutely idiot. I bet GB News will continue to have him on the show.

Why is it that it's always utter tards that start up new political parties?

Or do the media just ignore the ones who aren't crazy people

Who knows?

But he's absolutely confirming himself as being guilty of utter stupidity. And, of course, unemployable - no-one especially cares what an actor's politics are until they start really LETTING YOU KNOW WHAT THEY THINK on Twitter. If they're a big star, and they're not too far from the mainstream, we either roll our eyes a bit or let it pass us by - but if they're a jobbing actor who's gone right off the deep end, the public just don't want to see them. And they never work again.

His 'explanation' is as pathetic as his original tweet.

I'd like to think Emilia has disowned him, she always seems decent.

This is what fascinates me about people like Fox.

He has effectively burned his career to the ground, and has nothing going on at the moment apart from attempting several failed, and failing, bids for political life.

Clearly he can't live on fresh air and needs to earn a living, so what is he going to do?

It amazes me how these sort of people bump along for years without an obvious income, still living in a nice property in Primrose Hill and spending their days doing things that cost money rather than make money.

2 points:

- Sometimes things are worth putting your head above the parapet for and he feels strongly enough to do so. His tweet was appalling, but I agree with his perspectives on Covid and woke culture. I’m glad someone is willing to risk their reputation and even have a go at politics to put the arguments forward.

- If you have enough money you are actually in the privileged position to stand up for those beliefs and try to change something.

I’m similar in a way. I was offered a well paid contract some time ago, but then I suspect it was pulled because of something I’d written online (an industry perspective, nothing political). Genuinely couldn’t care less because I stand by my beliefs and don’t need the money. I suspect that’s his mindset.

Willing to support an obvious racist because you believe in the other conspiracies they talk about isn't a great stand tbh.

Laurence Fox will hopefully go the way of the other attention hungry right wing trolls and vanish into obscurity.

What a ridiculous comment. I agree with some of his perspectives and not others if that doesn’t blow your mind. I also don’t support him, whatever that means. The tweet was shocking.

Assume you are one of those cancel culture warriors with that degree of critical thinking. The kind that both Laurence and I would like to vanish into obscurity wink

Yeah cancel culture doesn't exist.

It's weird that you would see something that you find obviously disgusting and think yeah this is bad but he's obviously right about this other stuff.

More likely that the other stuff he says is ste too, no?

Agreed - and fair point.

It is interesting to see the now professional / famous covid nutters pivot to other topics and associated audiences contort with the challenge of do they follow them, or do they realise what utter sts they have been parroting. It is quite sad in a way.

The people who will speak out against cancel culture and what I believe in Etc usually end up being awful and racist tts but if we just ignore the most racist things they say then they’re actually ok. hehe

That’s where we agree to differ. For pretty much every person I interact with I’m sure they have some views I strongly disagree with and some I strongly agree with. Adults can appreciate that.

Anyway, I was just answering the post above as to why he does it. He believes something strongly and can afford to take a stance. If people didn’t stand up and risk their reputation and income for causes they felt mattered (not the racism, but the other stuff) then we would all be worse off.
