Coronavirus - the killer flu that will wipe us out? (Vol. 8)

What's with the NHS healthcare "professionals" sneaking Do Not Resuscitate orders into patients' medical records without their consent?

Do they get commission for each one they do? Sounds like it.

So they don't hold 'germs'.
Would anyone share a mask with any random person then?
I done half a shift at work the other day before realising I'd picked up someone else's mask. Mine was in my jacket pocket Would anyone share a mask with any random person then?
Well you lived to tell the tale, just try not to make a habit of it... just looking for the vomit bag

And you talk about others overreacting? Not wearing a mask or refusing to be vaccinated is as bad as raping children or killing people?! fk me.

You didn't run to the defence of the first group but straight to the opposite extreme end of the scale of people that do not want to accord with societal norms and consider society should change to suit them.

A day in the mind of motorvator would be fascinating if a little terrifying.
There is something significant in the 'it's no big deal to wear a mask' argument. It's true that it's no big deal but it's also true that it becomes habit very quickly. That habit isn't far away from comfortable. Forget the safety aspect for a minute but think about how you feel when you occasionally forget your seatbelt. I don't want mask wearing to feel natural because it isn't and I'm uneasy that we don't seem to see any really positive route back towards what ost people would regard as normality

I don't know where you live but that's not my experience at all.
The masks are a pain in the arse and I hate them but it isn't hampering social interaction that much in my experience.
We're tier 2 so am off out to one of our favourite cafés for lunch where I will doubtless enjoy a bit of 'bantz' with the waiter and the owner when I pay just like I did the last time I went in there a few weeks ago.
Yes, it would be more pleasant without the masks but, in my experience, the vast majority are just getting on with it.
Lucky you, tier 3 here. We’ve been under some kind of restrictions here since the first weekend in August. Now have no hospitality whatsoever apart from takeaways. Pathetic. The masks are a pain in the arse and I hate them but it isn't hampering social interaction that much in my experience.

We don't go through life picking and choosing the parts of society we adhere to or not or it is pointless having laws at all.
If you don't want to be part of society, I'm fine with that but you don't get to enjoy the benefits of said society without joining in with it.
And to be clear you are promoting breaking the law and you think I'm the loon.

This is another example of why you’re a hypocrite. I would suggest you stop digging.
I’m not promoting anyone breaking any law. I’ve (previously) said I break the mask law on occasion, but I have not suggested anyone else should do the same.
This particular discussion began because I was expressing surprise at people who wear masks in the unpopulated outdoors where they are not even legally mandated.

If I went out with the express intention of breaking the law by speeding, which I wouldn't, I could fully expect to be locked up for my actions. I could not use the defence of I don't agree with it so I'm going to break the law.
The list I included in my sentence was my own personal appraisal of the value I put on those individuals to society that would be a sliding scale of worthlessness of course but you fell for it straight out.
I have to say I find you extremely odd that you believe it ok to criticise an individual that is needlessly wearing a mask but defend those that don't in contravention of law.
Do you agree that everyone has the right to expressly break the law or not? If so perhaps you could give me a list of the ones you consider acceptable to.

Where do I defend anyone’s choice not to wear a mask in contravention of the law, other than with respect to myself? I merely suggested you’re a bit of a nutter for putting them in the same category as child rapists and murderers. That’s not a defence of anyone, it’s a criticism of you.We can choose which laws we follow and which we don’t. We may not have the “right” to do that, but we do have the means. It’s called free will.
The problem with people like you is that you’re so very comfortable judging and dictating what others should do, but you have no shame in breaking minor laws yourself. It doesn’t matter if you woke up one day and said “I’m going to do 85 on the motorway today”, or you’re on the motorway and you stab your accelerator when the speedo already shows 70, or indeed you crept over it without realising because you’re a poor unobservant driver. All of these are equal in terms of the law and the punishment.
