The thread has gone a bit off topic moving onto politics. I may be wrong but I suspect Drakeford is only talking anti-union crap to appease those wanting independence as Plaid are very good at telling people what they want to hear so needs to counter that.

I don't envy anyone trying to vote in Wales - Labour - you get what you've got, Tory, lapping up to Westminster, Plaid - the most anti-Welsh party of the lot of them. Anti-Welsh as many of it's members have no interest in Wales, they just want to pursue their personal agendas.

Back to Welsh lockdown.

I'm not sure why Drakeford has not openly said that people from England can travel to Wales once both English and Welsh rules allow. That means single households can start holidaying in Wales from 12th April. It would save much confusion.

He's calling for the end of the formal union - and a voluntary association. Not a union. He is a petty minded little nationalist dictator.

I'm a unionist. But you're way off the mark. Drakeford wants a Union that is better for Wales and recognises Wales as a nation with a strong Welsh Government. That's the only ways he removes the independence view that the union is a result of historic oppression.

I'm looking forward to end of march when I can drive 150m from wrexham to cardiff, but apparently I can't drive 7miles up the road to chester because it's in England
But wait, surely the quickest way to Cardiff is via England? Down to the M54, M6, M5, M50, back into Wales.
Don't start me on this!
Westminster has starved Wales of infrastructure spend for decades.
Imagine a motorway from Wrexham to the south?
Holyhead to the ports of South Wales and beyond into the world.
Yes. Well maybe.

I also imagine they finished the M53 "spur" and continued the motorway properly so that it joined the M56 at Deeside.

But then I also imagine that the finish the M57 properly, with a flyover at switch island. and a dual carriage way all the way to Blackpool with a bridge over the River Ribble.

It's just about unworkable where places are close to the border with shops etc the other.

As a close border inhabitant I would agree.

Drakeford mentioned last week, people were free to cross to England but it would be illegal for them to be there.

As I understand it, that is incorrect. Provided you are present for one of the reasonable excuses to be away from the home, then you are complying with English law.

Why he didn’t seek to clarify this, I don’t know....

Don't you come on here spouting reasonable fact - Drakeford is an anti English, border closing, man curfewing, Sassenach stifling, anti-pizzeria nashie LOLlaugh

So, he wants 'strong Welsh government', so long as England pays for it?

He has spent nearly 12 months stoking the flames of division - you only have to look at comments about the English spreading their covid in Wales on Wales Online to see just how much he has set back the country in such a short space of time.

He doesn't want England to pay for it. But he has little choice given that Westminster dictate the rules on exports, import, state subsidies and major infrastructure investment.

Beat me to it. As Crabby Twix is now officially part of the Abolish Party I would imagine he is getting all their nonsense targeted ads as well so probably has a warped view of reality in Wales.

I would love to know what his original username was on here and why he got banned first time around, and if he had a 'time out' recently too.

In fairness I know Landcrab, I don’t think he’s been banned. Perhaps sin binned, I know he is opinionated on this topic. rofl

He may have gone a little ‘tin-foil-hat’, but has been balance to the “everyone lockdown forever or your killing your entire family” hysteria some were guilty of.

Might be a bit extreme perhaps, but he’s not the only one concerned that some well established rights are being trashed and it’s being overlooked or justified “because COVID.” Breadvan made that point repeatedly in the 2 fined for a walk thread.

Also, I’ve got to say, I’ve been frustrated by the WAG performance. We’ve had the harshest lockdowns, lasting longest, firebreak was earlier, more restrictions and for what purpose? The figures have been no different, and usually worse than the rest of the UK. It’s pointless attempted point-scoring over Westminster. Different for the sake of different, and as far as I can tell much of it has been confused, contradictory or illogical. My personal favourite is a tie between the stupid non essentials rule which only benefitted Amazon, or the exercise from home rule. The reasoning was demonstrably daft and made some actions less safe and probably more risk of transmission, too.

Balance is a weak excuse there, I would say both are wrong and are as thick as each other.

Back on a now quiet topic.... 50% of adults have had first dose in Wales and biggest vaccination day recently as well. Aside from Merthyr and Anglesey things are looking better for now.

If teetotal Drakeford has his way, the only time we would be allowed out is Chapel on Wednesday and twice on Sunday to praise the lord for saving us from the demon COVID, drink, and anything enjoyable.hehewobble

No idea why it is 11pm release https://gov.wales/wales-tourism-sector-starts-re-o...

"
The rules will also be changed to enable organised outdoor activities and sports for children and under-18s to take place and up to six people from two different households to meet and exercise outdoors.

Wales is moving out of alert level four, and now starting to move into level three. Welsh Ministers will consider further alert level three measures in the next review of the regulations.

Self-contained holiday accommodation, including hotels with en-suite facilities and room service, will be able to reopen to people from the same household or support bubble.

The stay local rule will be replaced by an interim all-Wales travel area, which will remain in place until April 12, subject to the public health situation. For the next two weeks, only those with a reasonable excuse, such as work, will be able to travel into or out of Wales.

The current restrictions on international travel for holidays will remain in place.
Other changes include:

Six people from two different households, excluding children under 11, will be able to meet and exercise outdoors and in private gardens;
Organised outdoor activities and sports for children and under 18s will be able to resume;
There will be a limited opening of outdoor areas of some historic places and gardens;
Libraries and archives will be able to re-open.
"

Quiet today here in Snowdonia.
Great to see people out and about yesterday in the Ogwen Valley though.
Downside for me is that my kids have lost their bike freedom as we live on a dead end road with a beautiful lake at the end of it. 5 cars a minute yesterday!
