Not in my area but there's an Abolish the Welsh Assembly party, Freedom Alliance, No Lockdowns, no curfews party, Dwlad, the Welsh independence party, Ukip, Scrap the Assembly, WELSH CHRISTIAN PARTY “PROCLAIMING CHRIST’S LORDSHIP, or you could go WELSH LIBERAL DEMOCRATS – PUT RECOVERY FIRST...
What is the betting relaxations are brought forward so basically lockdown is over by polling day?

I doubt it - they've already plans to cope under cv-19 restrictions. Ours will be the town hall, entrance at the front, exit at the rear, You are encouraged to bring your own pen/pencil to mark your ballot paper. Please wear a face covering when entering the polling station etc

Can’t believe the pubs still aren’t open. My Welsh friends are coming over to England for a pint and catch up this weekend. Welsh Economy must be suffering. Feels like you have been in lockdown for ages longer than the rest of Europe.

Was the other way around wasn't it recently on barbers etc - haircuts doable in Wales but England locked down. How did the English economy cope?!

Hairdressers v the hospitality industry? Hardly. Comparison is it.

Real life in North Wales.
I now have over 40 year old staff being vaccinated next week.
We're busy doing the do. Groundwork for housing projects for local councils or HA's.
Spring is here. Summer on the way.
Lovely to see people out walking in Snowdonia.
Great to see the roads busy even though all of my journeys take longer.
We've coped well in my humble opinion.
Whilst I do not agree with all of Drakeford's policies In the round, they're working.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't and all that.
However, I'm not looking forward to the Marin trails being open again!
I've had them to myself for a year!

I'm going to walk past my local tomorrow (200 yards) to the next pub (400 yds) because the first is in Wales and the second in England.

Bloody silly.

Like you, I haven't agreed with all of Drakeford's decisions but I've at least been able to understand why he's made them, he's explained the reasoning clearly enough.

You're spot on with the damned if you do, damned if you don't comment. Leaders can't win in this situation.

I don't have any party allegiance to Drakeford, indeed I've got a very close, personal interest in the May elections opposing Labour. Nonetheless, I think he's done a pretty good job handling and communicating the Welsh government's covid strategy. He's undoubtedly benefited from comparison with the equivalent effort in England. From what I hear, he's seen as a decent, competent bloke by non-Labour MS. Sadly, compare and contrast with Andrew RT Davies.

House roof was damaged at some point in the winter storms, so it's been a longish job getting the roof fixed, new ceiling etc.
The delights of being denied access for lockdown means it hasn't been covered by the insurance as we had left it empty for longer than 12 weeks...
I've just got it sorted before heading off for work again next week.

High street seems as busy as ever, theres a hint of tourists in the area and of course as soon as welsh travel was allowed the beach roads were jammed with the surfers vans, everyone hit the beaches for walking, coastal path was very busy at the weekend

I thought everyone here said Drakeford was wrong? biggrin

Maybe we can’t be arsed arguing any more. laugh

The ultimate test will be Drakeford’s performance at the ballot box on the 6th May.

Certainly there’s a groundswell in N Wales that we are the ignored half of the Welsh population and this predates Covid.

Cardiff and the South takes the limelight every time regarding projects and spending. The people up here are not idiots and for sure it will have been noticed.

Certainly if you look at the way the hospitality industry has been hit by the longest lockdown sequence in the UK, examples such as a number of Conwy publicans banning Drakeford should give an indication of the strength of feeling against him.

Remember, the man is on a slim majority in his own constituency, so it’s not inconceivable he could lose his seat.....how unfortunate that would be... smile

North/south divide? - you can't even have the same welsh language) biggrin

I thought the polls showed Drakeford was seen positively, especially when compared to Boris

Didn't think it was that long ago...

Ah Andy Marr show - Labour faces problems
https://nation.cymru/news/drakeford-says-senedd-el...

Last year there were several UKIP people spouting off at various places, which I found strange but I guess explains the welsh Brexit vote in places.

I’m not Welsh, I just live here......

Boris isn’t up for the Senedd elections so comparisons with him are meaningless.

Exactly. The people saying he's done a good job oddly enough don't work in the hospitality trade which has been hit the hardest not just this year but last year as well. It's not even a north Vs south split it's a Cardiff Vs the rest of Wales split. Labour and drakeford has been a failure for the country and its people can't even comprehend how anyone can look at his record and say yea he's done a good job tbf.

The problem I got is who do a lend my vote to none of the parties have come out looking good during this.

Mine will go to the only one of my three local members of the Senned who bothered to respond to me, put forward my complaint and suggestions to the finance minister, who actually responded, despite her party she belongs to.

Yes unlike some just winging on a forum, I tried to take some positive action, contacted our MP, councillors, have ongoing questions outstanding with Pembrokeshire council to be raised at the next formal meeting and have had questions raised in the Senned.

At the same time I've spent the last year in discussions with major outdoor brands trying to get one to open a store on our local high street.

Likewise, I’ve been helping distribute Covid food packages (4,000 in total) plus another (3,000) lunchtime food packs for children, to those in desperate need over the past 12 months.

Unfortunately this shows where the cracks are in the political system that is supposedly in place, to support these individuals.

Instead we rely on support from big companies, fundraising and volunteers to sort the day-to-day stuff that shouldn’t need sorting... rolleyes

So my comments are based on what I see with my eyes, rather what some Cardiff-based politico would like me to think.

They are all fking useless, if I had my way the devolved administration would disappear overnight.

Agreed fully on that just another layer of politics that we really don't need.

Food banks etc are not a Wales only effect.

If you don't like extra layers of politics why not remove the top level?
