How do we think EU negotiations will go? (Vol 15)

Did you even read the article?
UK already allow Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the US, Singapore and South Korea to use the e-passport gates in the UK.
The EU only allow EU/EEA/CH passports to use e-gates.
UK said it would guarantee allowing EU/EEA passports to continue using e-passports after Brexit if the EU would reciprocate.
EU said no.
So UK will force EU/EEA passports through the manual checks queue.
You think this make the UK look bad?
To anyone else it seems like the EU are acting like children.
Everyone knew what they were voting for, and that includes joining the long "RoW" queue to enter the EU. It's a small price to pay to take back control of our fish. Am I doing this right?UK already allow Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the US, Singapore and South Korea to use the e-passport gates in the UK.

Those who didn't get the result they want will post anything and everything that they see in a headline to make the UK look bad.
Remember Whohe123 is the guy/ girl that posted up about some ebook retailer of unknown authors of middle kingdom type stories ( 39 books ) withdrawing from selling to the UK as they claim they cannot afford to pay the fees involved in VAT declarations.
( Books range from $0.00 to $5.00 )
These 39 books are available from other retailers.
So, Whohe123 and Helicopter123 will not have to do without their trilogy of Wizarding Cats.
Perhaps PH needs a "Now hold on boy - before you copy and paste the latest arse gravy you found on social media/ daily rags on this forum. Have you actually done a little bit of research? Or is it going to make you look a bit foolish.
The UK are being very sensible about this.
If the EU want to fanny about with this. Let them.

I was given some minor heckling on this thread for implying that pre and post EU membership travel would have some noticeable differences.
TBH, I agree with the hecklers that it's an easily solvable problem. But it's not an automatic gimme.
Apparently us frequent flyer cognoscenti will notice the differences but the average beered up tourist on their way to Benidorm won't so all's ok.
Last few times I've travelled the "RoW" lanes have been quietest.TBH, I agree with the hecklers that it's an easily solvable problem. But it's not an automatic gimme.

Regardless, if there's no reciprocal arrangement available then big deal.

Oh, you mean they are treating us like any other third country. Shocking poor attitude.
And yet our fish are not to be treated like any other third country's fish.UK citizens: not special.
UK fish: very special.
What's the cost to the EU to allow UK tourists and businesspeople easier physical access?
Isn't it in fact a benefit to the EU to make it easier for Brits to visit and spend money? Brussels should write to every hotelier in the EU to explain their reasoning on this one.

You learn PDQ that if anyone sporting the "wrong coloured skin" is in the line ahead of you - you tend to be in for a much long wait.
I'm surprised that this hasn't been successfully addressed.

Speaking as a lapsed catholic, my mother would be happy with this
I'm a lapsed CofE and my church schools also foisted fish onto to us pupils on a Friday. We did have several Irish/Catholic kids in my ILEA school. Apparently due to their parents having had these youngsters out of wedlock, they couldn't join the many local Catholic schools in our borough, It rather coloured my views of the Catholic establishment.

Very true. It's an immediate red flag if I'm in a hurry. You learn PDQ that if anyone sporting the "wrong coloured skin" is in the line ahead of you - you tend to be in for a much long wait.

Not sure which authority could address it though.

Pre CV19 I travelled a lot by air to Europe, because we are not in Schengen we always had to go through passport control, quite often the airports didn't even have E gates.Airports put in place systems to keep people flowing, they don't want big queues for lots of reasons. They expand the lanes that require more throughput.
But you knew that of course, you just wanted another

I only found out on his death bed my grandfather had converted to Catholism so he could marry my gran, as her family refused the marriage to a CofE. Nowt stranger than religion, poor kids being brainwashed from birth.
There are parallels to those who cant let go of EU membership.

Since you're twisting, is remain or leave the more fervently religious? Which is more based on faith vs proven facts? It's obvious leave is an expression of faith in an unknown future, remain is a known known

What an interesting philosophical question. In my view Remain is a cult populated by unquestioning apostles and Leave is full of cynical atheists who will change their views if circumstances change.
Neither are perfect, that's for sure.

An appropriate FTA deal, including on fish, would be worth having to walk the RoW queue.
That he even needs to question that speaks volumes
