Let’s face it, by wanting to keep the existing CFP quotas, the EU want to have their hake and eat it, which is unacceptable.

Yes, I know the jokes been done before, but I like it!
Well yes, but you could at least have the courtesy and wait until ‘Fish Friday’ winklaugh

Reality starts to bite in Kent.

Rather better than the routine blockage under Operation Stack...

Remember, Dover is a very minor port.
^^ The mind twisting to get to this point of view is astounding ^^

Eg.
A - "Hey Dude you've st yourself"

B - "Yeah but its not as bad as the time I st myself a years ago..."

A - "Dude , you've still got st in your trousers"

B - "I've got better clothes anyway"

So, is it reason to overturn the last 4 years and rejoin the EU?

  • Yes. A few truck parks are the straw that broke the camel's back.
  • No. So we'll just get on with it and see if they're actually required in the event.

Ireland will certainly be filling those pants with their land bridge clogged up and the other coastal states raping their waters.

Oh my days...!!!

What levels of stupidity must be swirling around inside someone's head to state such a daft comment?
I remember that many years ago our history teacher told us we were armed with nuclear weapons in order to defend ourselves against the French. hehe
I think Sir Humphreys opinion was if the French have one we must have a better one.

Remind me - how vocal have you been the dozens if not hundreds of times that Stack has been implemented due to industrial action in Calais?

Finally, thanks to Brexit, the Government have actually put in place a decent contingency.

Further, as mentioned (and I am familiar with the pros and cons of the various ports available for the supply chains I've helped design) - Dover/Calais is a st route. That's well known, hence it's volumes even in the 'good old days' of being members of the EU.

From the link you posted I read that Michael Green, Corinne Stockheath and Sebastian Fox all said " “Air travel is vital for both the UK and the EU in connecting people and facilitating trade and tourism, and we are confident measures will be in place to allow for continued air connectivity beyond the end of 2020.”
What measures would those be? Or on no deal are we hoping the EU will unilateral allow access again.
No Idea, have you not goggled it? .... Grounding planes will not benefit anyone either the UK or the EU but you want to it to go tits up just so that you can say "I told you so"
No FTA will not benefit either side either but many seem to favour it. The last time no deal was a possible outcome the EU granted a limited time exception. They may not bother this time. Few tourists flying and many UK aerospace firms have decided on EU regulation rather than UK. Best discuss with Grant he is in charge for the UK.

Um, a trade deal with the EU?

Hardly.

"Rather better than the routine blockage under Operation Stack... (We've had it worse before)

Remember, Dover is a very minor port. " (We've got better things)

The issue is self inflicted, hence the stting yourself metaphor.

I see the USofA is demanding up to £10 billion from the U.K. and our partners for unfair aircraft subsides.

https://uk.reuters.com/article/UKNews1/idUKKBN2701...

I wonder what the USofA would make of Dom Cum/Boris’ planned state funded tech industry..... And we should think ourselves lucky that we still have the EU to help us fight this dispute with the USofA.

We should probably see the month off but if they haven't moved from the ridiculous line that they want to be able to tell us what we are allolwed to do on the seas around our island then we tell them that WTO is it, end of discussion.

We should also make sure they understand we really are at walk away time and not to try and call our bluff.

That's only a fair and reasonable idea in the minds of people who aren't fair or reasonable!

The UK gov do not see access to territory and resources as part of what you'd call trade and I agree with them.

That was quick, it was a always going to be a foregone conclusion before the meeting kicked off though.

As things go in the EU, they haven't actually had the meeting yet. They've drawn their conclusions, then the talking heads all get to say their piece after the fact. Totally pointless.

Nope, the EU also want a ‘level playing field’ as well as those fishing Rights. No chance, can’t see
the U.K. bending over.

Ah ok, still on the hor d’oeuvres I guess, I do hope Juncker left at least a few bottles of the finest behind.

Didn't do Mrs May any good when she tried it.
