They choose their words carefully - lots of cabinet members speak out against a national lockdown yet are happy with numerous local lockdowns which could eventually cover the vast majority of the population anyway. It’s just a national lockdown wrapped up as something else.https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-health-coronavir...

The R rate declining is however a blaring, unfiltered foghorn.

This is what bothers me. It seems only a matter of time that most, if not all, areas of England will 'upgrade' to tier 3. But when? End of November????Biker 1 said:

I have some sympathy for this, but the behaviour was very much lockdown...you could have put a dining table in the main road and had lunch, the traffic was so light.
It was so quiet the pigeons would be asleep in the middle of the road when I went to work. This was the A120 near the M11 junction in March.
But it wasn't a proper lockdown.
Thing is ... it's *still* around 45 mins, despite the increase in traffic. I'm guessing there's some tipping point that results in congestion (especially around Junc 5-9) and the traffic still hasn't returned to the levels that cause that.

To be fair pretty much every move the government has made so far has been revealed by the papers prior to any official statement.FFS

I got nabbed by a speed-gun toting copper a mile further down that road at 6.48am Sunday June 14th 2015.This was the A120 near the M11 junction in March.

Was like your photo, no other traffic and the stretch I'm talking about is dead straight with no junctions/worries about joining traffic for 3 miles.
I was in the wrong I admit, shouldn't have done it but thought I'd stretch the bike's legs. Just thankful to the person in the 911 on the opposite carriageway who repeatedly flashed me & made me sit up and brake.
Got done for 98mph which was a result given the speed I was carrying half a mile earlier, that would have been an automatic DQ and possibly a mention in the tabloids.
