More on the Flynn case, this is where we are now with trumps politicised DOJ and Barrs in tervention.

Brad Heath
@bradheath
This, from U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, is a pretty remarkable show of distrust for the Justice Department.

Short version - Judge Sullivan is saying he doesn't trust Barr as far as he can throw him---and if his flunkies file altered documents they are going to jail.

Remember they've already done that in support of Flynn...

I still find it so fascinating how this will turn out.

The surge in voting and high turn out.... Blue Wave or Red Wave?

Traditionally, high turnout would be good for a Democrat nominee... hence why you have seen so many voter suppression tactics in play this time around.

Are there as many 'silent majority' Trump voters as people think?

I live in Orange County, California.. a fairly conservative part of an overall liberal state. Flipped last time around by Katie Porter to blue. It is neck and neck between her and Greg Raths(R) right now

Lawn signs in my neighborhood are roughly 50/50 Trump and Biden... but the telling part for me is the local candidates. I see a ton of Raths signs up and around the place compared to Porter for example. Hardly any Houses with Trump or Biden have the associated Local candidate signs up... and hardly any with the local candidates signs have a Trump or Biden sign to go with them.

And connecting the dots, I find it highly unlikely that someone would vote Red locally and Blue nationally.... would they?

Gonna be a rollercoaster on the night, that's for sure.

Trump's latest piece of misogyny https://twitter.com/bubbaprog/status/1319755456496...

"We're not going to have a socialist president, especially a female socialist president"

I thought he was desperate for women voters? Wasn't he begging suburban women to vote for him just the other day? What a tool.

Must be common enough, if that pattern of voting has earned its own name; split ticket voting.

In 2008 Indiana went for Obama for President (only time a Dem has won the Hoosier state since 1964) while putting republican Mitch Daniels back into the Gubernatorial mansion.

I believe there's some merit in it in as much as it means having someone that is doing their very best locally for YOU in order to try and upstage the guy at the very top.

Obviously that can't apply to republicans as they demonstrate every possible chance that they don't give a st about the people they're supposed to represent.

Remember he claimed on the 60 minutes interview he never said that - despite video of his rally with him doing just that

I think there's no doubt Biden will get the more votes. The trouble is who gets the senators and who gets the electoral college votes.
We've seen some of the voter suppression used by trump and the GOP already. Fake ballot boxes, wreak the US Postal service, remove 21,000 polling booths, voter intimidation at dropoff points, voter intimidation by foreign interference emails targetting and threatening Dem voters...

Trump's campaign has canceled TV ad buys worth $24.6 million slotted in 10 competitive states, while Biden's campaign has added $16.3 million worth of ads in 13 states leading up to Election Day, according to Advertising Analytics.

Trump has so far donated nothing to his re-election campaign, even as it has spent millions on his private businesses, and some top aides are reluctant to directly request that he dip into his own bank account.

Where did all those 100's of millions of dollars go from his campaign fund that were routed through other companies. $1.5bn raised yet almost half moved through companies and no recording... I think this is where "The president calls his campaign funds “my money,” according to current and former administration officials." We know he's done that before, misused his foundation money as his own, his sons used cancer charity money to fund trumps business.

Remember: Investigations by both the Associated Press in 2016 and Forbes in 2017 found that the Eric Trump Foundation had misled donors and mismanaged funds, funneling money into Trump-owned businesses or other charities linked to the Trump empire.

President Trump’s campaign has far less money than advisers had once anticipated for the final stretch of the presidential election, as rosy revenue projections failed to materialize, leaving aides scrambling to address a severe financial disadvantage against Joseph R. Biden Jr. at the race’s most crucial juncture.

To close the budgetary shortfall, Mr. Trump has slashed millions of dollars in previously reserved television ads and detoured from the battleground states that will decide the election for a stop in California last weekend to refill his campaign coffers. He has also tried to jump-start his online fund-raising with increasingly aggressive tactics, sending out as many as 14 email solicitations in a day.

But Mr. Biden still entered October with nearly triple the campaign money as Mr. Trump — $177 million to $63.1 million — and is leveraging that edge to expand the battleground map just as Mr. Trump is forced to retrench.

To help inject more money into the campaign itself, Trump aides and the R.N.C. quietly revised the formula for sharing proceeds from its joint committee for small donations, bumping Mr. Trump’s campaign share from an initial 75 percent last year to 95 percent as of August.

The president calls his campaign funds “my money,” according to current and former administration officials.

Judge Emmet Sullivan, who's presiding over the criminal case against Michael Flynn, has ordered the Justice Department to conduct an unusual review of its filings in the case and certify whether any have been manipulated.

The order is a signal of intense distrust between the judge, Emmet Sullivan, and the department, whose filings are typically accepted at face value. In this case, DOJ has already acknowledged that two documents it previously filed — handwritten notes taken by former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe — were altered "inadvertently" to include inaccurate dates.

Whilst we talk of trump using other money as his own, the NY Time continue their reporting into his taxes.

Long-hidden tax records show that Trump didn't reach into his wallet for his charitable giving. The vast bulk came from simply agreeing not to develop land — in several cases, after he had shelved development plans.

In President Trump’s telling, he is a committed philanthropist with strong ties to many charities. “If you don’t give back, you’re never ever going to be fulfilled in life,” he wrote in “Trump 101: The Way to Success,” published at the height of his “Apprentice” fame.

And according to his tax records, he has given back at least $130 million since 2005, his second year as a reality TV star.

But the long-hidden tax records, obtained by The New York Times, show that Mr. Trump did not have to reach into his wallet for most of that giving. The vast bulk of his charitable tax deductions, $119.3 million worth, came from simply agreeing not to develop land — in several cases, after he had shelved development plans.

Three of the agreements involved what are known as conservation easements — a maneuver, popular among wealthy Americans, that typically allows a landowner to keep a property’s title and receive a tax deduction equal to its appraised value. In the fourth land deal, Mr. Trump donated property for a state park.

The New York attorney general is investigating whether the appraisals on two of Mr. Trump’s easement donations were improperly inflated to win larger tax breaks, according to court filings.
