Anecdotally some Trumpettes are sticking their heads over the parapet; on the local paper's Farceberk 'letters' page and on the Herald letters page, citing the usual "Biden's a demented creepy sleepy hair-sniffing corrupt communist manchurian candidate and Trump's being treated very unfairly by the media" script. Surprising number of fellow travellers cheering them on. Bots or just the small percentage of loons who also believe that Q st?
They have a point, he is all those things. It's very clear to see that the MSM treats Trump gets very differently to Biden, Harris, Pelosi etc. I enjoyed the recent CNN clip where they had grown sufficient balls to question Pelosi's blocking of the Covid aid, she was clearly expecting the usual softballs.
Demented would be somebody who suggests injecting bleach as a cure for C19, or somebody who suggests that windmills cause cancer, or somebody who thinks coal can be cleaned by scrubbing it with something.

Creepy would be somebody accused of rape/sexual assault by 26 women, or somebody who pays women for sex.

Corrupt would be somebody convicted of defrauding his own Charity.

In terms of communist and manchurian only ONE person has taken Putin's side against his own Security services, or paid 1000x more tax in China than the US

I'm officially calling it, Donald J. Trump for 4 more years.

You can quote me here and say "he was right" in a week, or whenever it is.

He may lose the popular vote again but the electoral college will swing it.

Trump for 2020 Make America Great Again!
He might do. I don't think anybody doubts his skill in convincing a large section of the US electorate that he's the best candidate, even after 230,000 US citizens died from something he said was a hoax as well as 20 million unemployed. That doesn't make him any less of a vile turd.

Fair enough, I'm officially calling it, Joe Biden by a landslide. Senate, popular vote and electoral college.

The press got their fingers burned in 2016 so are being ultra conservative with the polls, etc. Completely understandable.

The loopholes the Trump team used previously that caught everyone by surprise are now well known and are simply not there any more.

The guys going to get wiped out. Decimated.

We'll see who's right in a week smile

Pre-Covid he was a shoe-in, the way he has handled Covid will produce a landslide for the Dems IMHO.

Unlike 2016, 2020 the Dems are getting the vote out and those that refused to vote for Hillary, for whatever reason that was, and there were plenty, are going to vote for Biden on the basis of anyone but Trump.

Had there been a 3rd debate, it would have been closer, but still too much to recover.

It's going to take a huge Rep turnout for this to change, I don't see it, USA in general is exhausted of the insanity of Trump, especially traditional Reps.

Surely if you regard Trump so highly he's already made America great again?

He's not managed it yet, so what makes you think this time is different?

I enjoy the responses when people are asked when America was great before and when it be some ‘not great’, normally complete bafflement and flustered thinly veiled racist replies.

This, plus massive voter disenfranchisement.

It's going to get messy soon, that's the only certainty.

trump has been using the slogan 'Keep American Great' for a couple of years now.

Do you think America is currently great?

Do you think trump's time in office has 'made America great again'?

There is no sign of that so far, number of people voting is up massively.

I was about to post that. 48% of the total 2016 votes have been cast already...

The problem will be that so many votes could be declared ineligible, by partisan GOP bosses, and that will be supported by a packed SCOTUS.
Kavanaugh has already shown he will twist anything to stop votes being considered, Barrett will have to pay her dues with that too

I don't know why you guys bother. confused

If somebody is here for a genuine discussion they don't tend to start by a) chanting "MAGA!!!" as their opening post and b) slating the opposition for being a hairsniffer/mentally ill/corrupt etc etc.

IF Trump manages to win (god help us) I'll have to block PH from all my devices as I don't think my sanity could take the mass of idiots celebrating Der Fuhrer.

Most of the posters here are pretty clued up, we've even had a couple of trump supporters who accept he is an absolute bellend, but have almost come out and admitted that they are prepared to tolerate him because they feel slightly better off financially or are born Republicans.

I get the feeling that the others are just mostly here for the wind-up. It's a genuine struggle to even try to comprehend the idea that there could be British trump supporters. What a genuine embarrassment! I think as we have seen with the likes of Lemsip and Powerstroke, disigty, and a handful of others, they are just radicalized right-wingers who incorrectly think that trump/Biden is a 'right/left' thing and that as right-wing extremists, they have a duty to support the mandarin muppet.

3rd November is my birthday.

Over the years, I've noticed that a number of strange, odd and bad things have happened on that day. I've had a lot of birthday celebrations curtailed and cancelled by circumstances which were, more or less, against the odds. Once there was a murder, and I was called in for duty just before my birthday tea.

Just putting it out there.

So I'm offcially calling it - whatever that means.

A few things intrigue me. The whole "small government" thing.

I get people don't want a command economy, but small government gives way to big business. A good example was an article in this month's Atlantic, about Erin Brokovich.

The thrust of the article was that legislation is so weak, and what there is, still only recent, so that companies simply save $$$ by dumping waste, not maintaining infrastructure etc. The result is numerous towns across the US where drinking water is contaminated, to the point of almost Soviet levels of cancers, increased child mortality and ill health.

That's what small government means, every man and his dog in a race to the bottom to save a few quid.
