No criticism of Joe discussing a ceasefire in Gaza while eating ice cream? tumbleweed I R disapoint. He seems upbeat about it, perhaps he's stopped asking nicely.
Ice cream + a ceasefire? Sounds OK to me. Chuck in a few beers and dancing girls and I'd call that a decent day...

Dave, exactly why I posted it and pointed it out (under oath).

Could be in a bit of trouble, couldn't he? If not true.

What sort of person gets a valued and informed poster like Byker banned from a thread because they don't share their views?

Especially when the person squealing to the mods is one that contributes nothing of value and regularly posts disinformation?

Not a pier that I would want to hitch my boat to.
Why would you post this insinuation? You are literally making stuff up. A very, very weird contribution.

Sadly not uncommon on this thread - for example, there are some at 14:09 and 14:14 today .

Being under oath is not any sort of guarantee of fact. As long as perjury is not being committed and the person under oath genuinely believes it to be true, it’s their version of the truth, nothing more.

If he’s committed perjury, then he is in trouble. But if he’s lost touch with reality, and like you genuinely believes this known Russian disinformation, then his testimony, under oath or not, is simply worthless.

Watching that news report with the ice cream I think he thought the ice cream was in fact a microphone as he leant to speak through it.

Sweepstake; how many times will MAGA Marge or other hollow vessels heckle Joe delivering the State of the Union? I bet at least two. Bonus if Joe says Malarkey or curses.

Think that was her first just now.

This is already one of the greatest SOTU speeches I’ve ever seen. Gloves are off.

Greatest is a bit of a reach IMO but as someone has has been fairly critical of his diminishing faculties, he looked and sounded a lot better.

Quite a long interview between a former GOP insider and Biden's biographer; covers a lot of ground, probably the most interesting being that the campaign staff are sceptical of polling, even their own. Not sure what to make of that but he needs to keep up the momentum SOTU has given him.

Was it?

Right up there with SOTU that Eisenhower, Kennedy or Reagan gave?

You honestly thought that it was that good?

Kennedy was an interesting fellow. Under the surface, he was troubled and I think if Americans at that time had been aware of what an unstoppable philanderer he was, he would not have had such a wholesome image.

Nonetheless, he was a gifted speaker and connected with people in a seemingly quite natural way.

I did. And importantly not one single lie was told (unlike TFG).

Blimey.

I’m not saying this to stir the hornets nest, but I believe that this is the first time I’ve ever known anyone praise Joe Biden for his oratory skills, both in the speech writing itself, and in the delivery or his charisma.
