I’m still not really clear what people expect to improve from a practical perspective. The arguments so far seem to have centred around vague concepts of nationality and control rather than anything tangible.

I can’t really see how anything will really change in the medium/long term. In the short term there will probably be more admin.

We don’t know what the final details are !!
However it has been worth it alone just for drawing
hasbeens or neverweres out ,seeing them and
People like Blair and major in a tizzy their
Various gravy trains hitting the buffers, aside from that
We have the means to properly hold to account
And elect a sovereign government , not have to
Take rules made by the unelected dross of the EU empire , Looks good to me .

You’ve moved to NZ but worry about Brexit? Seriously...
Most of my family and friends live in the U.K.,
half of my assets are in Sterling and the loss of freedom of movement within the EU, just as some examples of why I care.

Covid schmovid. Considering what was promised & lapped up by gullible punters, global Britain, sovereignty pie aplenty, NHS overflowing with cash, all the utter bks compared with the actuality of fundamental structural change fumbled by a government that is vote leave in
all but name & so afraid of dissent that it consists entirely of lackeys chosen for and only for unswerving loyalty, unable or incapable of facing up reality. Then no, it wasn't worth it.

It wasn't worth a cost in excess of our entire membership contribution to get to this point
It wasn't worth fundamentally eroding trust in Britain by reneging on signed treaties
It wasn't worth concreting over swathes of Kent
It wasn't worth risking the union
It wasn't worth dividing the nation to the point of permanence

You would have to be the actual epitome of the swivel eyed loony to have come this far & still think this bullst project built on lies & deceit was ever worth the bother. Apart form that, sure, why not?
Play it again Sam.

Well, too late to stop it now, so I guess we shall see.

I'm expecting it to be an utter clusterfk, as I have done since the idea was proposed, so I actively hope to be wrong.

Brexit will be a disaster. 30 days to go and companies still don’t know what the rules are going to be. Bojo should have told the EU to fk off and say there is no deal in October. Then at least there would be certainty.

If a no deal the Bojo needs to get as much of the navy out to sea as possible and start confiscating any EU fishing vessels that are found fishing in our waters. The French are bound to try and take the piss.

With the track record of the current government its just going to heap more misery on our current misery.
That’ll be interesting
The EU fishing vessels will be using licences, sold to them by the British fisherman !
Nobody cares about fish. Even Farage didn’t when he was an EU fisheries minister (famously rarely bothering to attend meetings about his dear fisherman)
Let’s come back in a year or two & see if it was worth it
In a year or two you say, will that be a final judgement day? Seems an extremely short time frame to judge such a massive change, add in covid and I think we really need longer to fairly judge.

Yes, Brexit.

It is worth it.

It's been interesting to see the EU exposed for what it is during this process. The same for a handful of the heads of EU member nations.

Other countries are now starting to think whether they really want this ever closer union or just a bit of a group to oil the wheels of commerce.

BBC reporting food bills could increase
On 69% of things by maybe 26%

Yikes !

That equates they estimate to maybe £100 for a family.

So £2 a week

I’m not sure Blair and Major are any worse off now, or will be post-brexit. If anything it’s given the more media airtime and, therefore, money and influence.

Looking at our current political landscape I can’t see anyone being held to account. The government are doing whatever they please in the name of ‘fighting the virus’, while the billionaire owners (and former owners) of retail giants offshore their wealth while letting their businesses collapse.

We are also awarding a record amount of public money to private organisations in return for , at best, poor results. Track and trace, COVID testing and external consultants to name but three. Pretty sure that pushing more medical work to the private sector, rather than investing in the NHS, will be the next step, all in the name of using everything at our disposal to catch up on all the lost treatments due to COVID.

Can’t see how any of this is anything to do with Brexit or the EU, it’s down to the leaders that we (collectively, of course) have elected.

Most of my suppliers, footwear and clothing, are setting up UK companies, we will be buying from them and they will handle the importing side of things.

There could be 8% tarrifs, they have all said they will cover half and we can cover the other half. So we might see cost prices go up by 4%.
We see bigger fluctuations with FX rates.
