There is a mass ignorance of who and what football fans actually are. They are not all familys having a nice day out. It is the sport of the yobbos of society that will never change. And that goes for every football team. Meanwhile, some England football fans

Enough is enough with this taking the knee st. We get it, stop politicising sport. Booing might not be cricket, but if someone in the crowd dressed up as a Nazi, and gave a Roman salute, you’d never hear the end of it
It's not going to happen during this tournament, but I think it will stop for next season.chrispmartha said:

You cannot keep one sort of politics out of international football by its very nature and that is the support for one's own country. If you no longer have pride in the badge then there is no point to it at all is there?. Meanwhile, some England football fans

Singing some of the old traditional songs might have the PC crowd clutching their pearls but there doesn't seem much harm in it. No doubt the FA will ban any working class oiks from the stadium or surrounds at some point and then you will be spared it.

Seems to be working, it’s getting publicity, people are talking about racism because of it, even here in a car forum.
It looks far more successful at raising awareness than any of the other campaigns have been. Some vanilla campaign that the -ists all approve of, is pretty unlikely to do much to help solve the problem.

He's not bothered IMO about sport, just gets off on finding various overtones. It's deeply odd. a. You posted a link to 50 or so fans chanting
b. You tried (as usual) to make it fit your rhetoric
Tenuous.

Not that long ago people were singing about the Munich Air Disaster, Hillsborough and making monkey noises when black players touched the ball.Singing some of the old traditional songs might have the PC crowd clutching their pearls but there doesn't seem much harm in it. No doubt the FA will ban any working class oiks from the stadium or surrounds and some point and then you will be spared it.
Times change.
There's nothing working class about being a dick and the pearl clutching is firmly on your side of the argument.

I love sport thanks, not a massive football fan but enjoyed watching the game today.

Why shouldn't you politicised sport? It's used to sell alcohol, gambling, make dodgy regimes and companies look better already?
It's been politicised for a long time, look at how the Olympics were used in 1980 and 1984.
Music is politicised and sport is just in the early stages of their politicization.
Taking the knee means more people have been educated on why some people are marginalised and held back - why is this a bad thing?
The footballers aren't asking you to do it and it's only 30 seconds- if it's not for you, just ignore it, and enjoy the game.

Have you ever been to a football match? Are you still trying to call me out as a racist?I’ve been to many including seeing England at Wembley a few times.

No doubt some think that the fans should spend their time apologising for "white privilege" in between sessions on Marxist-Leninist theory. Instead some spend their time having a drink with their mates and belting out some of the old favourites. Different things for different folks.

It's succeeded in people accusing others of racism. Making racists out of people who aren't racist and creating division, disunity and confusion over unnecessary virtue signaling at a time when we should be aligned against tackling racism. Basically it's doing the polar opposite of its intention.
