How many have been vaccinated so far?

it's not perfect - but is a reasonable presentation of the current situation and it is updated as and when things change
I doubt if any EU nations are going to end up vaccinating their population as quickly as we do
Which is why we should bring them over and vaccinate them. Not only would it show the Europedians that we don't hate them it would be a boost to the economy.I doubt if any EU nations are going to end up vaccinating their population as quickly as we do
Whilst they were over they would spend money in the shops thereby boosting the money going into shops and restaurants.
Then if (and I know it's a big if) we decide we want to be part of Europe again and rejoin the EU they would know that we are really likeable folk
I know it sounds a ridiculous idea but it may well be LibDem policy next month

Out of interest, are the EU countries dosing strategies (ie 3 week wait between doses, or 12 weeks) set at country or EU level?
I ask because France have twice the number of 2nd doses delivered compared to us, but only 1/6 of the first dose numbers.
Our decision seems sensible, or rather a calculated gamble that appears to have paid off with recent figures for efficacy of 1st dose
Could individual countries make their own minds up?

Thanks for posting this. I'd assumed that "today's" figures were going to be very low again, as the BBC have stopped reporting the daily numbers on TV since they have dropped off..I'm 63, so in the next group that's due to start getting the jab. Seeing the daily numbers drop has been quite disheartening.
Today's announcement that another group is being bumped up the list means another delay for people my age. They keep banging on about teachers getting priority too.

Which one? there are several.Pfizer and Moderna use a fairly new technique involving RNA
AZ and J&J use a deactivated chimp cold virus.
Some Others use a deactivated covid vector.
Edited to add - have a read of https://wellcome.org/news/what-different-types-cov... if you would like a decent primer.

There are times on PH when I really can't work out what to say and how to say it no matter how many times I read a post! I'll give it a go - do you really not know by now?Yes, it's been discussed before. I don't read a novel if I want a synopsis.

Nice idea but unfortunately much of the EU has been or is in the process of being brainwashed into believing the 'fake nooz' being put out by the likes of Macron that the AZ vaccine is not only ineffective but worth going on strike over if, for example, you and your health industry colleagues are told they're having it (as has happened in Belgium). Numbers aren't that bad considering it was always going to be low this week but still getting close too 20million vaccinated should hit that with ease by end of week. The j&j vaccine seems to be getting some good results too so when that comes in and with the refit done we should be really flying with the vaccine. 1million a day could well be a possibility into march.

Zero of my continental friends (France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands) think AZ is ineffective. They all want to be vaccinated asap.
But of course that's just anecdotal.
Anecdotal, but interesting nonetheless. Where are they informing their views - their national media, UK media, peer group discussions ?But of course that's just anecdotal.
