Yes, may be they already have the vaccines they need for second jabs and are starting the ramp up early. I was expecting them to keep the doses muted for a while longer.

Does anyone know if its ok to have second jab at a different centre to the first? Very real chance I will be the other side of the country in the 12 weeks between.
You can choose alternate places when booking initially and can change the appointment if you need to at a later date.

For some reason I had to do that, i.e. it would not let me book my second one at the same place.

My mother in law (and others she knows in their 70s) are at 11 weeks now since having the first shot of Pfizer and still no news of a second jab. May 1st will be 12 weeks for her.

Cutting it a little fine, isn't it? I know nothing will suddenly change if it goes to 12 weeks and 4 days or whatever, but I've not yet heard of anyone waiting beyond 12 weeks.
Was she not given the date of her second jab on the card when she got her first ?
Dad (early 70s) had his second yesterday, second appointment was booked the same time as the first
Same here my second was booked the same time as my first. I am due my second on May 3rd i am 64.

A while back (3 or 4 weeks) it was announced that a I live with someone who is immunosupressed I should be able to 'jump the queue' and get in earlier than my age group (I'm 39), I did post about it at the time but without lying and saying I'm my wife's carer I couldn't get a jab.
Well the good news is my wife got a text saying something along the lines of "if you live with someone who hasn't had a jab, reply YES to this message to get a link to get them booked". The bad news is it was sent from a 'no reply' number so she couldn't reply to it banghead Phoned the doctors and they're looking into it so hopefully I'll get done soon.

I think those who get Pfizer don’t get a reappointment and should get called us my understanding. Family and friends with the Oxford jab got to book a 2nd jab 24hrs after having the first. I’m Pfizer along with colleagues and told to wait for a call from GP.

Brother in law has just tried to book and been given somewhere over an hour away as the only surgery taking bookings. All the local places (and there’s a large town and a major city on the route to where has spaces) are fully booked.

I’ve said worth the trip but I think he will just hold out.

I've just been told that my second appointment has been changed to a different venue as the first "is now closed"! What does that tell you, eh?

I feel like we were supposed to infer something more, but yeah, that's all I got too.

Who knows - they have more capacity in other locations?
Given they are roughly supply limited for the vaccine, it is now surplus to local capacity?
It was always going to be temporary for Jan-April?
They have an issue with the building (flood/leak, etc)?

Your single data point of a site being closed doesn't tell a lot. wink

You think the specific venue was killing people, or had a vaccine that didn't work?

You probably need the conspiracy theory thread.

Or as above the majority of people in that area have been vaccinated and demand no longer needs additional vaccination centres.

Also, lots of venues are going to be opening up again for their original function in the next month, so the vaccine hubs might be getting the old Spanish Archer for that reason.

The overall percentage is actually quite amazing.

Which one - there are so many! I meant it as a joke. Interesting that some thought it serious - such is the nuttiness of the Covid 'sceptics' on PH and their penchant for alternative facts.

I think the real reason is that the first was at a university facility and the next time round they'll have the students back. Bit dull, but the reality of most 'conspiracies' usually is.

Just seen - Trucko beat me to it.
