The inactions of others are not our responsibility.
Full of compassion I see. So the people earning developing world incomes, say US5,000/year. In your world, lets just say tough luck to them even though that had no part whatever in making any decision which now makes them unable to receive a vaccine. Meanwhile you can have a third or fourth dose of a vaccine, which only requires two doses.
Such apologist nonsense. We are talking about national governments not getting their act together and somehow that is our fault? It was not complicated (ask the Israelis) - ring up a drug company and get your wallet out (and in national government terms the amounts of money required from it were/are minimal).

We are also not hording vaccines. What has been ordered and what has or ever will be delivered are two different things.

Then there is the money we have put into Covax, the money we have put into the R&D & production etc etc etc.

This country can hold its head very high in terms of what we have done in respect of making vaccination possible and available.
Indeed. What some see as inequality, in a lot of cases, is just various governments fking up vaccine procurement leaving them lagging behind, and then we appear to be the greedy self serving ones.

Obviously for less well off countries there is covax, of which we heavily support in funding.

I think if we get to the point where we have excess vaccines sitting on the shelf these will be diverted accordingly to those most in need, but the gov cannot be criticised for vaccinating its own citizens first, thats the primary duty, to protect its own people.

Also, lots of venues are going to be opening up again for their original function in the next month, so the vaccine hubs might be getting the old Spanish Archer for that reason.
My first one was at Chester racecourse but I could not book my second one there. I assumed at the time it was because by June they were expecting to be using it as a racecourse again. So my second one is at a hotel.

There are ZERO appointments in the whole of Nottinghamshire for 1st jabs. I guess they're maxed on 2nd jabs, which is fair enough. Been like that for over a week now.

I could drive to Chesterfield or Derby, would need to book time off work. Think I'll wait.

You could ask work. Most companies I know are allowing staff time to get a jab (not needing to take holiday)

I get my second AZ injection at 9am tomorrow, very happy to be another statistic in this fantastic battle against this illness.

If you assume U18s have antibodies from prior infection at the same rate as over 18s as per the recent ONS survey (which puts that figure at 20%) then by my maths we a further 9.8m first doses away from reaching 75% antibodies in the population as a whole. At current rates that’s around the end of July.

Got my second AZ Tuesday. No adverse symptoms of any kind except a dead arm.

Before Swiftqueue closed there were some over 50 jabs available but the NHS website is showing me nothing in the entire county. I'm 48 so if they're doing it by age they're nowhere near the 42+ some places seem to be at. Not moaning as I'm not vulnerable and in no big rush.

I think it depends on area. Bradford has been hit hard (for many reasons) and they are down in to the low 40s now. I understand that they increased capacity in some areas.

I got an email saying there was a vaccine walk-in centre open in Westminster. Still have to be 42+ but first come first served otherwise.

Looks like they must be dropping down the age categories, just managed to book and I'm still in my thirties (SW London), few other local friends sub 42 also managed to book today. Seems to have been released this afternoon as I tried this morning and no joy, late afternoon I could book.

Cardiff and Vale have been sending out appointment letters for 25+ now. Appointments are quick, so people in their 20s are being vaccinated now.

Amazing how fast it’s going here in South Wales.

Surprisingly my wife and I (both 33) got a text from GP asking us to book our vaccines. She was fine bar a mild headache for a few hours, though it knocked me for 6. Felt like I had caught it again from the jab!
