CCTV from inside UK Gov buildings being leaked is not great - as a side note!
With the leaking of WhatsApp or text messages from the PM and this you have to ask wtf is going on

I think they are, personally. It depends to a degree on your definition of an affair, but my line is “would his wife be ok with it if he did this in front of her”.

This is all a little too convenient though, i do wonder what’s next.
I'd try and say "I was just showing her my salsa moves, love"
Get half way through and start packing a bag.

When you are caught red handed there really isn't anything much you can do.

Posh people have different rules of engagement than many of us so I suppose it depends if his wife subscribes to the toff code or not.

I wonder if he will be doing any of the briefings over the weekend?

It’s not fair that us ordinary decent hard working people have been denied the opportunity to have office affairs frown

Sounds like Mrs Hancock isn’t going to be on the green list for Matty for a while.

He had planned to do some debriefing, but that might be off the table now.

Ordinarily I'd agree it's a serious breach, but given the extraordinary circumstances we're in I think it's necessary.

I thought Britain had moved on from such puritanical pointless views. What 2 or more consenting adults get up to is of no concern to anyone else. Not long ago we destroyed many of our greatest minds for being "queer", at last we have realised peoples sexuality is up to them.
It's more that when you're employing one of them and when you're at it in your employers offices it raises questions around judgement and given Hancock's performance it also raises questions whether your mind has been elsewhere.
Even more so if it happened at a time when different households were not supposed to mix.

As much as I love this little 'petard', I can't help but think the leak looks a little suspicious. I wonder if it's an expedient time to tarnish Hancock and get rid of him, nicely timed ahead of the July unlocking... then finding him a suitable 'not-in-office/reputation-damaged' scapegoat.
Big +1 from me. And - if it was common knowledge- why didn't Cummings blow the whistle?
After all the intrusion into his personal life (justifiably), perhaps he felt he wanted to keep things professional laugh

I like how the Tory party attracts so many MPs with family moral values.
Let's be honest - many people get tempted to stray, at all levels and of all political beliefs. It isn't a "tory" thing - they are just the party more often than not in government. The questions now relate to the ministerial code, whether he followed the covid laws (he made), and whether there is any inappropriate financial dealings between the areas of government within his influence and the company his mistress was a director of.

Call me old fashioned but ANY relationship a minister has with someone recieving payment from the government should be disclosed.

At least we know Dido Harding is married to the anti-corruption champion so we can draw our conclusions easily.

Obviously someone has it in for him. What a shame.

George Osborne did exactly the same thing (hiring his girlfriend in to a nice little job so she was close to hand) and no one said a thing at the time. In the end he got divorced and married her.

From the comments people are making when asked about this they obviously knew otherwise their wording would be different. Because everyone always knows.

More knife twisting to come - probably all sorts of undisclosed interests to emerge. He seems to have a lot of them.

Bonking on the job shows his lack of morals but I think most people see politicians as lacking morals anyway. But this isn't a fling with a regular secretary or PA. She's a wealthy director of a PR company appointed on our money as his aide. Who he happens to be shagging.

The fact that this has been leaked is clearly an attempt to go after him. He's a toad, frankly. A toad who looks down on the rest of us and will quite happily lie to anyone and everyone, especially those inferior to him. A toad I wouldn't trust to tell me the correct time of day. Trouble is, his boss is cut from the same cloth.

Well, as someone trying to do what I perceive to be the right things in life, I'm judging him badly from a moral perspective, I don't think this shows good character. Though this seems to be a dated, out of fashion view if the likes of Trump, Johnson, etc. are anything to go by. These days male politicians don't seem to be particularly hurt by these allegations, there perhaps seems to even be something of a "good lad" mentality in some quarters.

I'm guessing it's one of those where someone has it in for him and it's now pressure to resign or possibly face more pic's and info coming to light...

And if you're his boss you can't really fire him by saying his conduct has fallen below the standard you expect of a Minister.

Let's face it if you've survived your boss literally saying you're fking useless an affair's not really going to count for much.

Can't have family in your own home but it's fine to feel up an aide at work scratchchin

I think he's shown on plenty of occasions he is not of good character. I'm inclined to agree but it seems fairly standard now for politicians of every hue to be more bank robbing highwaymen than people with any moral fibre or basic honesty. And many in the country don't really care anymore, which is how they get away with it.
