This argument would hold water if we are vociferous in our criticism of 'our' crooked incompetents as we are of 'their' crooked incompetents. Sadly we seem to turn a blind eye to rhe many and varied inconsistencies of Holyrood
Indeed. If only we held our own crooked incompetents to the same level of scrutiny as we do to them…
Do we get to hold people who went to St Andrews or Glasgow Uni with the same contempt as those who went to Eton etc?

yes, we would be a lot better off if we were ruled directly by Johnson's Tories coz they possess honesty, integrity, intellectual prowess and competence
Whitabootery! At least the UK has an independent judiciary. It was long suspected Scotland didn't with the last Lord Advocate, and now there's no doubt about it with the latest one.
Johnson could at least be ousted by his own team. There's now no chance of that happening to Nippy in Scotland. That's something that should seriously worry you.

Which is the reason I dont even try, it's utterly pointless engaging at all.It does say a lot when someone has such low levels of aspiration for the future that they would happily give up one set
of incompetents to swap for another basically based on what side of the border they are incompetent on.
Start of with rotten apples and you are only ever going to have rotten apples, and only a hoodwinked fool would believe
the SNP are not rotten to the core, as are most political parties to be fair, but the SNP rot has an extra special guff of rancidity
and only a cognitively impaired clown would think they are the people to take control of an independent Scotland.
I could probably be convinced independence for Scotland could be worth it, but under the control of genuinely honest people, trustworthy,
and of intellectual brilliance, but where do we find that?, none of those attributes apply to the SNP, they are the antithesis
of those, they are dishonest, untrustworthy, and intellectually low grade.

For once I completely agree with you. It does say a lot when someone has such low levels of aspiration for the future that they would happily give up one set
of incompetents to swap for another basically based on what side of the border they are incompetent on.

If all politicians are corrupt, then doesn't it net off? Unless you want to opt out of the democratic process entirely, you are left with the option of supporting whichever corrupt, self serving simpleton, happens to peddling the politics you are aligned with.
If discussing a 'normal' left / right political situation where governments of different hues come and go, perhaps. But the SNP are a special case of corrupt, self serving simpletons who are advocating an irreversible change to the status quo which could negatively affect the lives of millions for decades with impacts far beyond the usual vagaries brought about by the leanings of the incumbent government.Dinoboy said:
Another SNP minister on The Sunday show coming across like a wee boy in his dad's suit.
I watched a bit of this - arrogant and patronising. OH likened him to some of the male housing developer types she has had to deal with over the years I had never heard of him before, but given his extensive business turnaround experience why is he not doing Kate Forbes' job?

Was it Ivan McKee? He’s quoted on bbc website. He was the boss of Business for Scotland which was churning out unimaginable volumes of ste in 2014.
It was indeed, and I saw his Business for Scotland credentials although he is no longer a director - perhaps since he became an MSP. N7GTX said:

Andy Burnham having a right go at Sturgeon for banning travel to Manchester on Andrew Marr now.
Yes he wants Scotland to pay for those in the north west who were planning a holiday in Scotland. He's not happy at all.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
