I really can't stand Farage, he's a horrible opportunist in the Trump sense.

However.

He will get media attention, funding and has public recognition. He's as effective a vehicle as you could hope for to give voice to the lockdown opposition.

I was thinking this morning that we could do with someone capable of making some noise about the dire situation we find ourselves in and to offer opposition. Love him or loath him he is the chap to stir things up and question the madness.

hehe

He's like the nightbus, no one really wants to be on there, but there was no affordable/palatable alternative, so there they are. He will serve a purpose.

This is now, officially a farce. If the police, normally nowhere to be seen when ordinary members of the public are reporting actual crimes, had a single shred of credibility left before COVID, it's all been squandered long ago.

It would be interesting to see what they would put on the FPN as they would be hard pushed to prove they were there as an organized meeting - I would not pay the FPN and let it go to court - I suspect it wouldn’t get that far.

Melbourne back into lockdown.

To prevent the spread of an outbreak of the UK strain....

Now I thought Oz basically weren't allowing people in or out unless you spent along time and a lot of money in quarantine.

Yet...the virus is there and circulating from all the way over here? What am I missing?

Also, reading that report, the Aussie government are even more hysterical than we are.
What a way to live. I know that we are not in the best shape as a country but at least we ahev built some immunity and vaccines are being rolled out, for all the praise that Australia and New Zealand get from the zero Covid fanatics, I cant help but think that their problems haven't even begun yet...

It really is a farce. It's one thing being overzealous policing the actual laws, but the article itself even admits no one was breaking any laws. They aren't even going against any guidance really.

Here in the people's republic of Wales though, it is genuinely illegal to drive to "exercise" and twitter seems to have lots of police forces here loving the fact they can patrol genteel open areas, and fine normal people rather than getting stuck in with filthy scrotes like they usually have to.

Said filthy scrotes are running riot in the evenings though, but the PCSOs finish by 7 and really couldn't care less.

So a load of people just turn up at the same spot un-organised means they can't fine anyone. Then they quote the police basically trying to figure a way that they can go and fine everyone.

How do they think they can make that stick?

Would be really nice to see a few out of control sledges wiping out a few rozzers.

Speaking of BiB, I know there’s a few on PH - would be nice to get their view of all these fining shenanigans.
I assume their families, kids etc must be feeling how many of us do with regard to the stupid ‘enforcement’.

It's been below 1 for at least a month

Nonsense the BBC says it's below 1 for the first time since July and they know stuff because they're the BBC so keep your facts to yourself! (Argued with the mother yesterday that we weren't the worst in the world for deaths but she'd only accept if the number was per 10,000 not per capita, I pointed out you can multiple the per capita number by 10,000 but that was taken as not using the "right data" no wonder were in this situation)
