Wow, just popped by for my weekly dose of whatever the Mango Muppet has been up to, only to find that Biker has been banned from the thread for doing what he has been doing for about 5 years, with input from mods during that time.

Does sound like the way Republicans are trying to stop people finding out stuff in the US… With no comment or discussion by mods or PH on the matter.

I don't think funding lawyers solves anything, ultimately the PH server is their property, should they chose not to let anyone use it, its up to them I would have thought.

Anyway, from threads in the feedback section it seems the matter is under discussion.

Having read pretty much every post in every volume of this sorry Trump saga, Byker28i getting banned now, is one of the most stupid things I have seen.

I'm seriously thinking of leaving Pistonheads.

The volume of obviously trolling sock puppet accounts, the "I'm not racist but..." posters, those who fill NP&E with any and every news item that can be used to attack muslims/BLM/wokists/leftists, the ant-vax bks, and now this. Byker is one of the few posters to actually post interesting and useful information, setting a standard that few other threads can match.

It feels that the culture has changed here for the worse, and it's gone from a nice country pub where all are welcome to one of those flat roof estate pubs. I blame the prevelance of iphones enabling every Tom, Dick & Harry to "SpEAk ThEIr bRaiNs" as if they have something worthwhile to say /snobbery.

Well, it is pants. I just replied to a thread on the Boris thread with a link to a newspaper site and that’s ok as has thousands of other posts have done without repercussions.

Rule 16 states “ Do not copy and paste content from newspapers, news sites or other websites. This is a breach of their copyright and any such threads will be deleted”

Why, on banning Byker then, has this thread not been deleted?

Rules are been enforced selectively and then they’re not even following their own protocols.

But, regardless of that Byker always posted a link to the article where the news came from, even if you copied the whole text surely providing the source is enough to show there was no intent to pass the work off as ones own :?

Add to that the inconsistency of a ban now - what changed ? did PH receive a C&D notice ? did someone complain ? what made the mods take action today ? With no further explanation from mods, it has a bit of a whiff to it.

The irony is that those on the right typically post lies with no source or proof, which is completely acceptable by the rules...
