as Putin was quoted in german media about the prosecuted protesters who entered Capitol on Jan 6th.
Putin told the press at a conference that these people were "political prisoners" of the USA.
Since I think many of those "Trump won" protesters were influenced by social media campaigns
originating in or trolled by russian posters or bots, I think this topic fits in here.

I would like to see more of Byker´s posts in here and can only add my feelings to the ones written by many posters above,
I think banning Byker was a wrong move and I hope someone finds reverse gear.

Agree, also worth noting that there was generally a clear divide in his posts between informing and confronting, all his points contained, what seemed to me, a brief overview with his opinion, the link and the section of that link that was relevant would be copied by him.I can’t for the life of me think what is unacceptable about this when compared to some of the baseless rants that go on all over this forum.
I found his posts provided some depth to the subject as opposed to knee jerk reactionary arguing and can not really recall him posting just to argue like so many do.
Time and time again on here we see posters demanding “evidence” to counter a point or to continue an argument/debate and yet Byker does this in a reasonable manner but gets banned?
The more I read about this, the more I’m inclined to believe this is a mod only decision, it can’t be down to being reported as his posting has been the same all along.
I do however think it’s time this topic was closed, he’s not president anymore and there is plenty of meat on the bones of his downfall to warrant a thread just on him.
@HM-2…..whilst we clearly disagree on other threads, I fully agree with you on this but I do think you’re wasting your time asking for clarification from the mods on a rule, it’s clearly designed, like the other rules to allow for “interpretation” and therefore, in the end, without challenge. You and others on here have highlighted a clear hypocrisy but I don’t see Byker coming back on this one, maybe a well attended new topic is the way forward?

Someone up there ^ says he was scrupulous about sources, but many of them were ‘sourced’ from bizarro websites with stories that were complete fantasy. Since trump lost many of the posts had a tenuous, if that, link to trump. Just a load of rubbish about Capitol Hill protestors who live in hicksville getting charged with some misdemeanour, or about other GOP politicians getting accused of stuff that was nothing to do with trump.Absolute obsessive and anyone who disagreed was shouted down.

He did not 'nearly win a second term'. He lost, by his own reckoning, by a landslide.The thread was not 'dominated' by Byker, he posted multiple news stories, always with souces attached. You are free to take issue if in disagreement, as we all are.

ked up.I've stuck with NP&E for a decade as, despite it's flaws, it has been a quick forum to escape one's own echo chamber and watch people with differing opinions debate in front of me, giving me the luxury of weighing up the various arguments of the time and (despite the poor search function!) revisiting threads to see what has changed.
It does seem that the lower bar for internet communication and TBH the lack of professionalism from media outlets has had a corrosive effect for so long that we are now living through some kind of collapse in standards.
God knows what's going on with the mods, though. It's not like they are new to PH, and Rule 16 is about threads, not posters, so something else must have changed.

Indeed, esp as more than one has partaken in this thread over the years, and responded to the very type of posts for which Byker has been banned.A bit like Lindsey Graham going for a round of golf with trump a few years ago...
