Newbie here.
Can anyone give me a quick catch up of the last 11 volumes ?
It all went HORRIBLY wrong!
That depends on your frame of reference.

If you are looking from a point of view of someone in august 2015 I agree.

If you are looking from the point of view of someone in November 2015, it went exactly as expected. It was horrible, and could yet get worse (don’t forget, this is the man who, no matter how low you set your expectations, confounds them) but still, we expect horrible.

I can’t work out if it’s bots/paid shills or real people, but it’s shocking that some people are still defending him and attacking Biden. I read the comments on an ad for the economist and there are so many people talking about how corrupt Biden is, how everyone is going to pay vast taxes and how it is going to be horrific now Trump is gone.

The fact that so many people think like this (the other side is the enemy) is frightening. The most frightening bit for me is how some extreme right groups have captured so many people in to thinking that moderate liberals who just want everyone to be respected as people are somehow evil and that calling out discrimination is somehow oppression.

Talk of wondering whether people are real, or paid shills or bots is kinda on the way to being similar.

Don't get me wrong, Trump has done a lot of bad things.
Previous volumes of this thread have been hyperbolic, paranoid, maniacal at times, with all sorts of accusations thrown around, witch-hunts, insults, abuse. A lot of talk about left and right, instead of right and wrong, good or bad.

It indicates that some of the negativity being thrown at Trump comes from a place of resentment that exists in people already because they're quite tribal and protective about their left-wing identity.
Some people treat it like a battle and those people will always be there on the tip of both wings.

Good lad.

Absolutely superb, masterful.

I just wish the simple, sociopathic charlatan himself could see this.

I’ve been on this thread for a long time so hopefully I don’t just get immediately shot down. I remain thinking globally Trump was better than Clinton, I believe that the situation (due to lack of effort) with Syria is better and than he genuinely made middle America feel better off. Even a poll on the election put him miles ahead 6 months ago. I think he’s an idiot - but he’s a dangerous one right now.
