On Vine today a woman rang in to explain how she was physically shaking with fear when Bojo announced removing restrictions yesterday. Yep. That’s where some people are at with covid. The fear mongers have certainly won a few hearts and minds.
Obvious solution:Seriously, I struggle to understand which relaxations she is so afraid of,
as surely they are all entirely voluntary...?
- scared about being allowed to meet someone outside for a coffee/picnic? solution: don't meet up with anyone
- scared about 'non essential' shops reopening? solution: don't go into non essential shops
- scared about hairdressers and salons reopening? solution: don't go to a hairdresser or salon
- scared about pubs reopening? solution: don't go to a pub
...and so on and so forth.
In other words, there is nothing whatsoever stopping her living her life exactly is it is now for the next
few months (or forever if she wishes!), so what exactly are people like her 'shaking with fear' about??

I disagree we are being cavalier.
Children need teachers. If they are off en mass, it will not help.
mental health is a tricky one but longer periods of deprivation have been endured by children.
At least now Children communicate with social media. Almost too much in my opinion.
We are just 4months away fro seeing the back of this providing people are sensible.
My friends some of whom work in the ED and ICU in Portsmouth are also getting exhausted by this situation, but complain little.
So basically you don't give a toss about kids as 'they have social media'.Children need teachers. If they are off en mass, it will not help.

FFS. My 6 yr old was in tears again today about missing her school and friends, thinking it will never end. But you know what, I'll tell her to suck it up as long periods of deprivation have been endured before.
Jesus listen to yourself. Kids are suffering for no reason, properly suffering, but you don't think it's cavalier.
As long as you can pop to the garden centre though eh.

Simple as that. So they turn the anger outwards.
I wonder if there is a negative correlation between testosterone levels and personal fear of corona/ obsessive virtue signalling in young men.
I bet there is.

And of course there may be new strains, which may or may not be unaffected by the vaccine you just had, so your shiny new passport is useless.
This whole damned thing has exposed just how much control the government will exert given a chance and it has also proved how dammed compliant some people will be of you scare them enough.
I’ve noticed suspiciously pro-narrative and equally divisive articles appearing in news recently- apparently lockdown is now the fault of people “refusing” the vaccine. This whole damned thing has exposed just how much control the government will exert given a chance and it has also proved how dammed compliant some people will be of you scare them enough.
This is going on until they have vaccinated everyone through threat of job loss, loss of access to facilities and supermarkets etc etc.
Next target will be cash - we will need to go cashless - for our own safety of course.

I hate this attitude. It's nothing but a display of pure arrogance, hypocrisy and self righteousness.
If I wrote what I really thought, I'd get a thread ban.
No one talks like that in real life, these people are just trolls hiding behind their keyboard. Best ignored. The idea that defeating a virus has in any way anything to do whether 6 people are or are not from the same household in a pub is for the insane. I am more optimistic than some on this, as I think by April 12th the real data will be so low that it will be hard to stop everyone just opening up anyway. Yes they will obfuscate it and use another metric to show “we need to do more” but many people will have had enough by then and we’ve become accustomed to a new kind of normal whether we like that or not so people will press on. Zoos will be busy.If I wrote what I really thought, I'd get a thread ban.

If you want to spend the next decade locked inside your own home while having your kids as prisoners
FINE
Just don't expect me to not go for a pub lunch

Basless accusation from someone with clearly little idea of the implication of my post.
Our Trust has always provided PPE for all wards and areasa since February last year. Our in-Trust infection rate is one of the lowest in England.
But do you accept that over 25% of Covid deaths followed from infections contracted in hospitals? Our Trust has always provided PPE for all wards and areasa since February last year. Our in-Trust infection rate is one of the lowest in England.
Unless you are saying that the masks don't work.

Look to Israel for what comes next when the vaccination levels are higher.

I do think now if you want to find out how we are going to deal with a situation as a nation. All you need to do is go and ask a 30 something woman with kids who lives off things like reality TV shows and shows like the Voice, dancing on Ice. And are generally not interested in current affairs apart from head line snippets and gossip on social media. And it will give you a good idea.Simple as that. So they turn the anger outwards.

It's a monster of the government's own making.Likewise the over-inflated death figures.
Designed no doubt to maintain awareness, control and compliance amongst the populace, and impossible for Boris and chums to ever play it down.

it's not if what they really plan to do is to use the track and trace app and link up all your health records up to date etc. Watch this happen.
