So, "after" covid, we must continue testing for covid??? confused
I've referred many times to zero covid fruit loops, and primarily had loons such as Devi Sridhar in mind. But perhaps Matt Hancock is another one? In fact, judging by the above quote, he may be a zero disease loon, covid included. He might have some mad, crazy vision of himself as "the Health Minister who was able to banish all infectious disease from the UK".
I recall reading a sci-fi book when I was a child where there was no disease and people wore masks all the time (Isaac Asimov?). I knew it was fiction, obviously; maybe Hancock took it as a vision of the future?

National Covid 19 threat level reduced to 4.

Looking at the numbers locally not sure that description applies, maybe 3, certainly not even rising, never mind exponentially.
1 is almost certainly never going to happen.

2 is a very long way off.

So really, 3 is the best we can hope for, realistically - in the short to medium term, anyway. IMO.
Well 1 is effectively zero Covid and they already admit that isn’t a reality. So why not change the graphic?

Would you like it spelled out?

"What is indisputable is that many have seized on this to further their own agenda and a significant proportion of these individuals are in favour of the reordering of our economies and societies on environmental or far left grounds."

"The longer they keep us in lockdown the more damage they inflict and the closer they believe they will come to their goal."
Many - as in individuals, not conspirators
Their - becomes the singular, not plural

So again, where does this require a conspracy? and conspirators. It doesn't.

Aligned goals for individuals does not a conspiracy make.

Perhaps you could name all of these individuals who are working towards this socialist paradise?

And I don’t mean just one or two but the thousands it would take to achieve such an aim whilst having no power to progress it?

Yup everything I see of Matt Hancock shouts out that he is a zero disease (as you put it) loon. With the compulsive lying, lack of empathy, the fake crying etc. he comes across as a complete sociopath to me. Of course you have to have some of those traits to get anywhere in govt (or power in general) but still... I still hold out hope that Boris et al are going to blame this whole stshow on him and he’ll face some consequences but I think that might be wishful thinking wink

Even worse if there’s a cover up over the nursing home deaths.

Should that be recorded as a covid related death I wonder?

Probably more to do with it than that chap's poor granddad.

Thousands? It only takes one or two.

We have one PM, as does Canada, as does Australia, as does New Zealand, as does Scotland.

There only needs to be one, in charge, to move a whole country in a different direction.

Next dumbass question...

Horizon.

Explaining herd immunity needs to be 97% using an R number of 3. It’s below 1.

Using measles as a comparison disease for vaccination and eradication. Did everyone of every age have measles jabs when it was a problem?

Interesting development with supposed intervention from the Queen to claim it selfish for not having the vaccine.

Difficult to say whether that will cement resistance or persuade the undecided.

That's effective R number Re. Basic R number R0 is what determines herd immunity requirements and that's still being refined but it is settling comfortably north of 3.

This doesn't really answer your question specifically, but it probably isn't far off..

"Maurice Hilleman's measles vaccine is estimated to prevent one million deaths per year."

I’m sure it does. Does measles affect all age cohorts? I don’t know, hence the question.
