If you believe that, you'll believe anything.
Hands up how many here actually wear a bloody mask in order to protect others?Fair enough if visiting some old dear in a care home, & I can understand why hospitals might require them, but Joe Public in Asda? Really?
If they are that ineffective, why wear one when visiting ‘some old dear’?

Most are worn just to get into Tesco, Waitrose etc.

Everyone in hospital is masked up.

Doesn't the fact that infections kept rising through winter prove lockdowns don't work too? Why are the government persisting with all this bks?

I only wear them where legally required to do so, and often pull the useless crap off my face as I walk out of the shop door - it’s so obviously pointless it makes me quite angry.Fair enough if visiting some old dear in a care home, & I can understand why hospitals might require them, but Joe Public in Asda? I only don the damn thing in the first place because it may make some old dear in the shop feel slightly less scared.
Can’t wait to have a ritual burning.
Personally I think the moment the man on the telly says they are no longer required they will disappear almost over night... many people may currently say “oh yes, I love my mask and I’ll wear it forever” - I call bullst on that.

Are there any indications whether the 80+ were people who have 0, 1 or 2 vaccine doses?
Most 80+s had their first dose over a month ago, so would expect to be seeing a bigger drop by now.
Could it be that the untested vaccine is killing them? Most 80+s had their first dose over a month ago, so would expect to be seeing a bigger drop by now.

Does she honestly think this will be possible to implement?? I have a collection of 6 motorcycle snoods. I keep one in the car in case of emergency shopping & another one for the weekly Sainsburys run. Have not actually purchased any type of mask during this & have no intention of spending a single penny on one.
I'm still alive......
Easy to forget mask wearing isn't about protecting you and your own health, it's about protecting everyone else. Same theme with the vaccinations.I'm still alive......

No just old people dying of old age. Just like they did before corona. Imagine if you could give 80 year old people a vaccine that could make them all live for 16 years more.

Odd how 'old age' suddenly killed far more people in the last 12months than in previous years though isn't it.....?Pocty

99% of people 'wearing a mask to protect others' are doing no such thing. It's not a fking 1 way valve. Most are simply terrified of the virus.

Update on excess deaths based on todays ONS report for wk 7 ending 19th Feb 21:
It's beyond my abilities so is there any chance you could post some different excess mortality stats? I'm suspicious that a five year average is being used to support the narrative and I'd really like to know how things look when using other rolling averages - say, 10, 15 or 20 years. Quite understand if you're busy enough already. It seems to have been due to a flu outbreak. An event so massive I have absolutely no recollection of it. Also very interesting that non-COVID deaths are at a 20 year minimum.
