I've always said that we should give Johnson and Hancock the clap they so richly deserve.

Now there's obviously the slippery slope aspect that one could argue which is entirely relevant I admit but for now, jab and get on with it? It's not a difficult decision. I'll ponder what to do if we become required to be constantly doing so every few months for all eternity but that's a problem for the future.
Pondering later could well be too late. Have you ever tried to arrest your progress once you have begun your journey on a water slide?
The vaccination religious fervour won't stop here. Anyone who thinks it will is living in fairyland.

SARS-CoV-2/Covid is real but it is being used by those for whom power and control is a wet dream. They don't give a stuff that increased poverty will ensue.
Never let a crisis go to waste. People will be so desperate to return to 'normal' that they will pay almost any price.
They will have completely forgotten, or simply failed to understand in the first place, what new sacrifices they will be making.

National Security and Public Health are the two perfect excuses for the state to curtail/remove our hard-won liberties.
People say you don’t know what you’ve got until it's gone. Truth is, you knew what you had, you just never thought you’d lose it.

FYFY.

The same old conflation between legislation and guidance that has permeated the subject throughout. The 'Rules' is convenient shorthand with which to blur the boundary.
The media, especially the BBC, is complicit in this which results in a great many people being unable to grasp the difference.

Maybe if we all start clapping on a nominated evening it’ll stop the flu from spreading?
Are we then spreading the clap?
At least antibiotics should help.
Nope, it's a superbug. Like MRSA which is another infection you can readily catch in a hospital.. wink

The daily death numbers yesterday were odd

It looked like there were 100+ based on earlier reported numbers which were c. 90 in England, 18 Wales and 0 Scotland. I forget the Ireland number. These figures were tweeted and reported in the press.

When they were updated they came out as 82

Any idea what happened?

Jim from Wolverhampton, who died from a heart attack following a two week binge of coke and hookers, was counted 29 times because he tested positive at the hospital!

I’d happily swap lives with Jim!

A bit unfair for those who don’t like sitting on a bench with someone drinking coffee. Not exactly the great release is it?

You could sit on the ground with a cup of tea instead?
That’s allowed too.

But don't bring a mars bar - picnic. Covid likes picnics but not coffee or 3 course meals in a pub.

I've been back in the UK for the last 10 days. Other than the pubs/restaurants being shut, I don't really see much difference to a normal world.

The school bus has been going past to the local school; car parks in local beauty spots are busy; people have picnics out of the boot of their cars; ice cream vans are selling their god at said spots; supermarkets a bit quieter; I walk the dogs where & when I like; I go out get stuff as I need it for jobs around the house as I like.

I've lost track of the numbers of times I've probably broken the rules & I'm still alive without CV. Around here CV is non-existent anyway. Most of the areas on the governments map is white, so too low to register.

It's all a bit daft, if the intent is to keep everything locked up for more months.

Indeed. Yet today there's plenty discussion at work of parents complying with having swabs shoved up their teenage schoolkids noses and down their throats despite none of it being mandatory. How long have we got before that nonsense disappears?

Broken off communication with two old friends now due to this. They both insist on getting their kids tested and are very pro-active them wearing masks in the classroom.

Any parent that joins in this sick form of child abuse, I have no interest in associating. If they offer it to their child and explains the risks in a neutral manner, that is fine and then up to the child. But these are actually forcing them to do it.

Just disgusting. Makes me sick.

Don't disagree with this.

What worries me is; my daughter has been tested, she chose to have it done. She's told me that kids are now using Covid to bully each other ffs cry 'You're a Covid spreader' is the new 'You smell of wee'. So another unintended consequence of all of this bs. To all that have contributed to this madness, thanks ever so much for giving my child something else to bloody worry about mad

So sorry to hear that. I really hope the fking karens and bedwetters of the world eventually get their comeuppance...

The only good thing to come out of this is my close friends circle has closed considerably. Happy to know who the true sensible ones are.

Totally agree with all of this. Interestingly at my son's secondary, even 'pro-lockdown' parents seem to be baulking at the prospect of these tests given what kids have already been through. And it must be obvious to even the densest of parents that this is now getting into the realms of fantasy bringing these tests in at the eleventh hour with the virus now in full retreat.....
