Tiger Woods seriously injured in car crash

Seems like a decent report, crossed through the centre divide and across the opposite lanes before rolling off the road. Deputy says it's a 45mph zone but they often have accidents on this section with people travelling at much higher speeds.
Airbags popped and seatbelt was on, I'd say the car did very well to protect him given the circumstances. Reports are saying he's fine after surgery and was never in life threatening trouble.
Let's hope he makes a full recovery and is back out supporting the game again in the future. I last saw him play in the Open at Portrush and although he wasn't on his best form and didn't make the cut, the crowds following him were just incredible in both the size and the amount of love and support he gets.

Quite a lot of tree in the engine bay. La Liga said:
The reality is we have little to no idea about the specifics of the crash and forces involved.
It may be the car did remarkably well in the actual circumstances.
I was thinking the same. Sure, the driver was injured but he's alive. The car seems to have done its job there. It may be the car did remarkably well in the actual circumstances.

To be fair one's elegant with decades of history behind it, the other looks like a plastic clip on mustache that fell out of a Christmas cracker.Blackpuddin said:
Ouch, I've only just managed to forget about your thread Dibble! Now you've reminded us, how's it going?
I’m ok, still on hold for the next round of surgery, which should have started last July with another external frame, to straighten, rotate and lengthen my leg. Hopefully I’ll get the surgery this year at some point, have the frame for six months or so, with maybe six months of intensive rehab after that. It’s been a bit tedious being delayed, but then, loads more people have been a lot more ill, or lost someone to Covid, so I’m managing t9 be fairly pragmatic about it.
I suspect cost won’t be an issue for Tiger Woods, so he will no doubt be getting the absolute best orthopaedic surgeons money can buy. That said, I can’t say enough good stuff about the care and treatment I’ve had from the NHS. My consultant is brilliant. Barking mad, but I wouldn’t swap her, she’s absolutely fantastic (as are all the other staff on the limb reconstruction team). Someone mentioned motorcyclists a bit earlier in the thread - I spent a couple of days in the bed next to John McGuinness (he of IoM TT fame) and if it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for me (and he was an absolute hoot and a thoroughly nice guy as well).

I have no particular interest in golf, and my knowledge of Tiger Woods is only superficial, but what I have heard about him has for a long time reminded me of the words from a Paul Simon song -
“Some folks lives roll easy,
Some folks lives never roll at all...”
I wish him well.
The car certainly rolled“Some folks lives roll easy,
Some folks lives never roll at all...”
I wish him well.
