It's not a Bentley but it's definitely bent.

Great golf player and I hope he gets better soon, but can't help thinking this being a major setback to his career..
Quite possibly career ending.

'His injuries included a shattered ankle and two leg fractures, one of which was compound, according to a source familiar with his treatment.'

Long recovery from this.
Nasty damage to the lower part of his right leg by the sounds of it.

Certainly an internal fixator (metal bar to join the bone back together), not sure if an external one would be required at some point too.

Hopefully there will be a road back from this, albeit a long one.

Agreed but from initial shots and the crest on the door I can see why people tended towards the Bentley at first.

Maybe I shouldn't be on here so early, but the painful puns and the arguing about it being a Bentley are too much for me at the moment rolleyes

I can offer that, judging by the age, size and wing mirrors, it isn’t a 1991 VW Golf Driver.

Yes, I think that is a you problem.

He has a broken leg and is otherwise fine.

A horrible accident, but far from requiring grave and subdued posting...

Three pages on one of the most famous sportsmen alive having a car accident and two thirds are arguments between pedantic nerds about what car it was.

Asleep at the wheel, mechanical or tyre failure, on the phone, animal ran out in front... who knows. Must have been going at a bit of speed to flip a thing that size and end up so far into the countryside.

Good to hear he is conscious and beginning recovery but surely with a compound tib and fib and also significant ankle injuries that’s the golf career done.

As Martin Brundle would remind us, Tiger had a “good” accident ie a lengthy, dramatic version rather than a shorter version ending abruptly against an immovable object. The passenger cell of the Genesis looks intact and all the doors opened normally post accident.

OK you can’t underestimate the forces involved in such accidents but I do wonder whether there was some freak compromise of the footwell area during the accident - similar to the Kubica shunt ?

My guess is bad night's sleep + painkillers for recent surgery + quiet car = fell asleep at the wheel.
