I'm not sure about your unfounded accusations. I had a quick look on By-election thread (I didn't know there was one until today) and many posters are posting very similar things to me and yet remain unchallenged.
I'm not sure why you are trying to close down my support for the government.
etc..
If you want to make up other people's arguments, sure, but as I'm not even in that thread I'm not sure why you think I share any of those views?I'm not sure why you are trying to close down my support for the government.
etc..
I guess it helps if you assume that everyone who doesn't share your views are like some amorphous blob with only one political stance... saves having to think.

I'm presuming Boris losing such a safe seat is as momentous as Starmer losing one of his.
Depends on the reason, but a strong shot across the bows - he can't afford to rely on support, and needs to pay attention or clearly he can loose that support very quickly. That must be good news for both the LibDems and Labour. I doubt either party would be bold enough to claim that this is an endorsement of Starmer or Davey over Boris. It does raise a good question on HS2 though, and many suggestions are that it should be reviewed. I doubt that will happen...

"Boris Johnson is to strip the Electoral Commission of the power to prosecute law-breaking, just weeks after it launched an investigation into his controversial flat refurbishment.
The watchdog has been threatened with curbs ever since it embarrassed senior Tory figures by fining Vote Leave for busting spending limits for the Brexit referendum.
Now ministers have announced that a new Elections Bill will remove its ability to prosecute criminal offences under electoral law – arguing it “wastes public money”.
..and further into the abyss we go.

No one outside of the Westminster bubble cares. Why shouldn’t senior politicians be able to receive gifts from unnamed donors? The watchdog has been threatened with curbs ever since it embarrassed senior Tory figures by fining Vote Leave for busting spending limits for the Brexit referendum.

What you are forgetting is these people are better than the average person. Financial inducements don’t have the same effect as they do on you or I.
To be honest the bill should have been picked up by the tax payer anyway. It’s embarrassing that our prime minister should have to make do with furniture from John Lewis. We are an international laughing stock.
If the people aren’t happy then why did the conservatives do so well in the recent elections? …apart from the one yesterday which as previously discussed was a protest vote due to purely local issues.
You need to remember what Tony Blair spent on doing up number ten in the nineties too. Plus he took part in a an illegal war that I probably thought was a good idea at the time.
Let’s not forget Jeremy Corbyn wanted to turn number ten into a refugee centre for LGBTQ Syrians.
Etc..

Hard to argue against. What you are forgetting is these people are better than the average person. Financial inducements don’t have the same effect as they do on you or I.

Yet another unwelcome distraction for Bozza and his tory chums.
