According to Guido fake campaign leaflets have been circulating in Batley showing Labour's support for BLM and "taking the knee"
I wonder who is behind that stunt . Probably someone who realises that is a lot less popular in parts of the country than it is in London.
The leaflets may be fake, but Sir Kier has definitely taken the knee and expressed support for BLM.I wonder who is behind that stunt . Probably someone who realises that is a lot less popular in parts of the country than it is in London.
I wonder how he feels about that now, as the leader of a major UK political party who supplicated himself to pander to people protesting about police brutality in another country.

The message is real but the leaflets themselves are apparently fake.I wonder how he feels about that now, as the leader of a major UK political party who supplicated himself to pander to people protesting about police brutality in another country.
Just highlighting how "dirty" this by-election seems to have become.

That’s terrible. It’s as though she actually wants there to be blood on the streets.
Again.

Don't know the area or the history but how does a by-election get so nasty?
It's basically labour eating themselves. The left of the party are very bitter about perceived lack of support for Corbyn when he was leader. (They have a point on one level)
Add in Galloway as a self appointed champion of the left stirring the pot and this is what you have.

Labour counts on a block-vote by the Muslim community, and a skilled agitator decides to stir up religious hatred, which the Labour candidate then tries to do too, thinking that it’ll win some votes back. The Conservatives on the other hand seem to have kept a low profile, other than suggesting that they’ll be better able to achieve government funds for the area if they win.
Bookmakers odds have them at about 65% probability of winning.

Will be fascinating to see the result here. So many variables in play. All over a massive sthole! The Conservatives on the other hand seem to have kept a low profile, other than suggesting that they’ll be better able to achieve government funds for the area if they win.

I'm assuming without bothering to check that the COnservative is parachuted in, in which case I feel sorry for the poor sod if he has to end up living there.Actually, that's a bit unfair, there are some pretty decent houses around;

Labour activists ‘egged, pushed and kicked’ on Batley and Spen campaign trail
Labour activists in the Batley and Spen by-election have been pelted with eggs and kicked in the head while on the campaign trail, the region’s mayor has said.
Newly elected West Yorkshire mayor Tracy Brabin said she was leafleting with “colleagues, volunteers, campaigners” in the Whitaker Street area of Batley on Sunday when they “were followed, verbally abused and physically assaulted by a group of young men”.

As above, this seems to be a response in part to Galloway’s st-stirring among the Muslim community.Labour activists in the Batley and Spen by-election have been pelted with eggs and kicked in the head while on the campaign trail, the region’s mayor has said.

Hmm, no description of the assailants? No one had a camera on their phone to catch a picture of the villains? No CCTV? Riiiiiight...
As I posted above, the harassment on the street does seem to be from a member of the local muslim community. I read somewhere earlier that he's well-known and something of an agitator. Give the issues being discussed, it's a bit por that this fact is left out. That's the community that galloway has been trying to get riled-up, and if members of that community are now chasing women down the street then the link maters. It's completely possible that the attack is from a different group entirely, but it's a bit poor that no description is being given.
