We need to keep this social distancing going. Particularly when there is alcohol involved and people start to lose their inhibitions.

Car spares emporium. No comments made although probably helped by the guy serving me wasn't masked either.

Local curry house this evening. Mrs thought she would give the unmasked approach a try.

Again, completetly no fks given. No track and trace either.

Its over, when we say its over.

For me, its over. Boris get fecked.

While you don’t need to give an explanation and it is illegal for people to ask about your exemption it is not legal to just decide not to wear a mask without an exemption

I'd like to see Thankyou4calling to at least fess up that the full opening on the 21st is looking bust, which is where most were placing their bets with them on... But if it was indoor pub settings, with masks for toilets and the rule of 6, then he's dodged that'd one, but most reasonable people wouldn't see that as normal.
Are you thinking of someone else?

I didn’t offer any bets on the 21st.
Did you actually take ANY bets? I saw tons of takers.

That ‘fact checking’ article states that the Dr. claims to be a former Chairman of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

He never makes that claim in the interview, nor in his credentials here..

Why are you so keen to discredit him I wonder?
I see that “fact checkers” have become the new bogeyman for the fruit loop anti-vaxxers here! Anything that exposes their gullibility must be a conspiracy.
Very nice. How about addressing the point that was made instead of the usual snide insults? You're pretty sure of yourself - shouldn't be hard for you to do.
He reminds me of a little boy who revels in poking an ants' nest with a stick. Every time people respond it just encourages him to do it more. Why give him the satisfaction?

If they don't end restrictions by the end of July, they never will.

Utterly depressing and genuinely terrifying.

I simply cannot accept that the NHS can become overwhelmed if these vaccines work. If they don't work, which is implied by the fact lockdown isn't going away, then why are we vaccinating people at all?

COVID, like so many other diseases isn't going away, but living a life in fear of it is no life at all.

The people saying we are moaning about having to wear a mask, can I ask if you have to wear it all day?

At work, 9-6pm?

It is starting to get really grim, especially as the weather is getting hotter.

Yes, approx 8am-5pm, unless I am in a room on my own, or in a large room where I can SD from others, which is rare.

This was just an example of needless global warning enacted by the Red Arrows to demonstrate to the G7 delegates why its important to reduce the carbon profile of the ordinary citizen to that of a Etheopian goat herder.

To think they are so collecitvely thick to think that these photos will enamour them to their countrymen as they sit there, in lockdown, looking forward to a very bleak winter, economy in tatters, whilst their betters enjoy the fruits of our labours on our behalf.

I'm willing to bet the PR company charged wih the task of diseminating the photos is headed up by a guy called Rupert who has a man bun and wears shoes sans socks,

Absolutely clueless.

Just goes to priove they are all, almost without exception, aholes.

Apart from Biden. He doesnt know here he is but all the women , and some of the men, smell so very delicious.

I don't like it (obviously!), but I don't have a choice about it.

Edit to say: though clearly when I'm in a small room with 30 others for hours on end, there is some logic to it.

There a definite change in the country’s mood, our G7 “delegates “ have shown it’s one rule for them and purgatory for us.
We are now Global leaders in the new green, build back better by example race that Boris will use to cement his place in history.
And it wasn’t even his idea…..

One of the CDC slides used earlier in the week in a briefing before the next week's larger meeting on the issue

As it so happens, it's also part of the reason why I think using vaccinations to 'reduce cases' as part of the official narrative to allow us to get out of the bloody mess we've dug ourselves into is one that is extremely poorly judged. And in particular why I think EUA for below 16s use is pretty close to being a bloody poor idea. As arguably that same EUA approval for those under 30s in many respects.

Just to be very clear, I am very much in agreement with those at risk taking the vaccines and for most others to do so when it makes sense for them to be doing so. That's broadly anyone over the age of 35-40 to take the damn things. i however very much disagree with the coercive messaging about everyone vaxxing up being necessary for society to be able to continue to function and the way vaxxing ever younger age groups who are not at any major risk or in an 'emergency' state due to the virus is being used as the 'easy' way to reduce infections rather than trying harder to get the (small) number of people over 50 who refused to take the vaccines to reconsider by addressing their apprehensions. but as with many things with the outbreak, it's the easy and much more visible outcome so of course that's what the government chooses to do.

P.S and just to add. This was the MHRA in the middle of march with regards to ViTT for the AZN jabs. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56397592

Issue...? what issue? just shut up and jab up. It's a little bit of a different tune being sung now.

and this was the CDC back in May re younger cases of myocarditis... time will tell if instantly downplaying the risk of adverse reactions is ultimately going to do more harm than good if it too turns out to be somewhat of a larger issue than originally accepted.

200 out of 9,000,000 is 0.0022%

That's not far off the "serious" reaction rate for MMR (0.0018%, higher if you include doses given to undiagnosed immunocompromised patients) or even HPV (0.0013%)

100,000 cases a day by July!?

Without knowing the background rate of those reaction rates seen in the MMR, I suppose I'm not in a position to comment about the numbers as you stated (happy to have a look at any sources).

The CDC slide is strongly suggestive of a considerable increase in risk over the 'expected' rate so unlike the MMR vaccine with long lasting benefit to the person getting it clearly shown (and quite unlike for a younger person getting a covid vaccine I might add), it's somewhat less obvious they should necessarily be jumping forward to get it in the same way as you would be happy for kids to get the MMR one.
