He's got us a hotel.......but it's in bloody New Quay.

I hope your boss didn't spell it like that when he was searching for accomodation eek
I knew I'd get picked up on that hehe

Mind you, on Google currently, it says 58 minutes Newquay to St Ives. I'm sure it'll be worse at the weekend.

I think we finish about midnight in St Ives Sat night but start 6am Sunday morning. Seems pointless heading to Newquay to get a couple of hours sleep.

Looks like I'll have to sleep in my car. Wish I wasn't almost 60. I need my comforts, like a loo twice a night hehe

How big is Newquay runway? Does AF1 fit?!

Glad to see that in amongst all the whining and complaining someone else has the same question as me!
They need around 2,000m and Newquay has 2,700m. 747’s have used the runway previously -

No it's not laugh, a load of young people with some minor illness for their age group. Everyone else has been jabbed (a separate issue which is OT).

It will be fine, don't worry.
She's fine. A bit of a headache and a dry cough. We (and she) are not worried about it in the slightest - she's young and fit and it poses no threat to her. As I said, she's just annoyed about missing the parties.

Maybe I'll stop in Gwithian and paddleboard in.
I'd have rented you a room for, say, £2000+VAT rofl

Seems to be the going rate at the moment!

Can't blame them for cashing in while they can. The entire area will be shut down due to all the isolation from covid required by the locals for the next few weeks.

I am alright Jack

I'm guessing they checked that before they tried to land! biggrin

But it is about 2.8km runway, so plenty of room
I thought he flew into Suffolk?

I wonder what the carbon footprint of this little get together will be?
Doesn't matter. You driving your fossil fuel powered car and using a gas boiler in your home is the issue.

(You may not do either. Just an example hehe )
Yes I do have a fossil fuelled car and a gas boiler but the point is , I’m not telling the world not to use theirs while I turn mine up to 11.
What’s wrong with video conferencing for those things especially with Covid? At least people might think they are serious rather than taking the p1ss with their private jets etc
Boris flew down there, apparently because the train service isn't good enough...

Where have you seen that? The hotel is closed - the Government will have booked whole place as an entity.

This is what I find annoying about the 'elite' group and the world they are making everyone live in.

It's been the same forever really. The elites arrive, do what they want and everyone else has to stay away or be disrupted. Places get locked down, normal people can't do normal things anymore. All because a group of pompous, self serving idiots show up in town with their armed muscle.

It's different now though because not only do the peasants have to bow and make way, they are doing things that the peasants are banned from doing.

Want to go on holiday abroad? No way fella. Covid. Innit.

Want to meet up with a group of people? No way fella. Covid. Innit.

Want to live a life that wouldn't be considered eco friendly? No way fella. Global warming. Innit.

Yet the elites and their chums carry on regardless doing all of the above.

These absolute c u next Tuesday's turn up from en mass all over the world, mingle with each other, disrupt everyone else's lives and decide how everyone else is going to live. Even if the elite get notification of potential covid infection, they will make up some rule or scheme that means they can carry on with their lives.

One other thing is the cost. It must cost a hell of a lot to move the elite and their staff around. Yet it doesn't matter because they aren't paying for it. The peasants pay for it and they pretty much decide how they will spend the money taken from the peasants.

Classic do as I say. There is even a picture of our useless prime minister emerging from a plane in Cornwall. A plane? Could you get anything more obnoxious? How dare he lecture us about being green and then fly there. Same to all of them. Pompous, self serving, out of touch with reality tossers who shouldn't be in a place of power.

Really, really annoys me. I do hope that one day, the human race will advance enough to understand that we don't need a bunch of overpriveliged a-holes preaching to us about how to live our lives and controlling us.

Build back better. Go away you slimy, overweight, under the thumb moron.

Absolute hypocrites. The lot of them.

Also, I believe AF1 is any aircraft the President is travelling in. Not sure if if covers the minicab ride (will the armoured cars fit down Cornish lanes??) For the last part.

Its just a very long journey for someone so old. I do hope he remembered to pack a warm blanket

Oooh, free WiFi.

Makes it a bargain. I’ll take two weeks.
