The US has just recorded its 700,000th covid death,
I’m having toast for breakfast.Ever wonder why the scale jumps form 9 years to 14 years at 50 yet drops back again to 9 years for 65 and 75? Wouldn't be because the 50-59 group number wasn't scary enough of course..

Folks are free to wear/not wear a mask as they please; it's really no-one else's business.
Should the discussion really be - the Tory Government is dishonest and manipulative? What's the point of insulting individuals who choose to follow government guidelines, but fail to condemn the Government?
Should most of the folks on this thread not be on the Boris Johnson PM thread, attacking the source of the misinformation?
I’m pretty sure no-one on this thread has anything but contempt for the government, the advisors and politicians of all colours who have supported this charade.Should the discussion really be - the Tory Government is dishonest and manipulative? If Anti-Maskers criticise individuals for following Tory rules and guidance, but fail to call out the Tories for making those rules, are they not hypocrites of the highest order?
By calling rule-takers 'scared, frightened, ignorant, sheeple', are Anti-Maskers not just bullies.
If Anti-Maskers voted for Johnson, and intend to do so again, are they not the true 'sheeple'?

It is absolutely fascinating the highly emotive insults that the mask lovers hurl about in order to try and discredit anyone who doesn't support their viewpoint. It's almost like a cult - attack the non believers!
Remarkable.
Out of interest what's your feeling on this sort of thing...?Remarkable.

In wickes earlier for some DIY stuff. Very little evidence of maskubators. Odd sight of a normal young woman with a muzzled bloke, what a beta cuck he looked

I'm seeing a lot less mask wearing now in everyday life. We took my daughter to the circus in the village last night, 500 people crammed into a tent, I saw one mask on an old lady.
Now at her gymnastics class, and we are now allowed to sit in a little room and watch again, no masks there either.
Still a few in supermarkets, but there is no clear demographic of who is or isn't wearing them
Go to Waitrose, a mask paradise. Now at her gymnastics class, and we are now allowed to sit in a little room and watch again, no masks there either.

I don't think so.
Look at the way of the world
"Social justice warriors". Big mouth idiots on Twitter and Reddit.
Most of them are late teens, to early to mid 20's.
Most of them are not happy in their life. Depressed. Angry. Frustrated at their parents. Their boss. Their friends.
These people are the ones who are shouting the loudest. "THINK OF OUR FUTURE!".
Yet themselves, most of them are absolute hypocrites. Most of them still have cars, despite saying carbon emissions are killing the planet.
Most are still scoffing their face on Meat, when they're saying ANIMAL CRUELTY IS BAD.
Most of them (the female ones at least) still wear make up, all while saying animal products and testing is appalling.
Most of them will say things like "We never have it as easy as my parents, they have a house worth £500k and paid £30k for it...etc" all while forgetting that their parents also were working multiple jobs at times and maybe if they stopped wasting 2 or 3 hours a day on Twitter they could actually educate themselves.
Their own lives are in tatters , their life path is murky, scary and overgrown. But the path of righteousness, being a ER member, or being a climate change protestors, is easy is rather clear - and also, is looked upon in positive light by their peers, giving them that "warm fuzzy feeling" they've been missing their whole lives because they grew up with an entitled attitude.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people carry on trotting out this utterly absurd argument without the slightest regard for any actual facts.Look at the way of the world

We bought our current home 15 years ago for £250k. If we sold it today, it would go for around £650k.
To put that another way, the value of our home has increased by not far off the national average wage for every single year that we've owned it, so for me to turn round and tell the young of today that all they need to do to get to where I am is to spend a couple of hours less a day on Twitter would quite clearly be absurd, insulting to them, and a reasonable argument to support the hypothesis that not only might I live in an ivory tower, but also that said tower is located on a prime bit of real estate somewhere far inside my own arse.
I didn't say "you can own a big house if you go on Twitter less"
I'm saying if they used the time they spent virtue signalling and arguing with people to actually educated themselves they would be setting them self up for a better life.
But they don't because they're lazy and entitled.

Truth hurts I guess. As I said you very rarely see 45, 50, 55 yr olds arguing incessantly on Twitter. All while complaining they aren't getting a fair salary or can't buy a home.
Educate yourself. Increase your earning potential.
I'm 55. Last had a mortgage in 2005. We took it out in 1997, paid it off in 8 years.Truth hurts I guess. As I said you very rarely see 45, 50, 55 yr olds arguing incessantly on Twitter. All while complaining they aren't getting a fair salary or can't buy a home.

We weren't on high salaries then, we're not now.
How many 30 year olds could do that today?
The only way I can see my son (18) buying a house in the next 10-15 years is if we throw a ton of money at him. Which we will, but not everyone has that luxury.
But keep telling the kids how easy it is.

I've just returned from a week long holiday in north Yorkshire, and can report that there is almost zero mask wearing except for in supermarkets. For example, we went to a pub quiz night with around 40 people packed in to the bar and masks weren't even mentioned. We did the tour round the Black Sheep brewery in Masham and no-one in the tour group wore a mask, nor were we asked to.
However, we shopped at Tesco in Northallerton, and I'd estimate 50% of customers were wearing a mask. It seemed to be women with small children, and elderly folk that were masked.
Sorry, not the most exciting post ever, but hey. I heartily recommend north Yorkshire for a holiday by the way; beautiful part of the country and we found the locals very welcoming despite us being soft Southerners.

I'm not saying it's easy.
I'm saying they (kids and younger adults) need to put the effort in, instead of moaning about their life on the Internet.
Out of all the people who are moaning "ill never have a house!" how many are qualified or knowledgeable in a specialist field?
How many have career advancement options (further qualifications etc) but don't take them?
As per my post there are options out there.
Work your 9 to 5 then do 3 evenings a week at your Local supermarket. Takeaway delivery driver. Etc
Easy 500-600 a month extra. Even if for a couple of years to save up for a deposit.
Free, subsidised or low cost courses which might turn your Level 2 to a Level 3 and net you a 7500 per annum wage increase.
Smarter investment options than wasting money on pointless junk.
Living within their means, not everyone needs a new car for example or a holiday to Zante.
Often you'll hear "I work hard so I deserve this nice car which wipes out 90% of my disposable income and leaves me with 75 a month spare"
Sorry honey, you don't get what you "deserve", you get what you get. A combination of luck and effort and smart decisions.
