I wasn't really concerned at all.

Now George Eustace says 'there is no problem and plenty of stock' etc I'm extremely worried there is actually fook all and a massive problem looming because an MP and usually a minister cannot open their mouth without uttering a complete and utter lie.
This.

As soon as they roll out a minister to say ‘don’t panic’ everyone panics.

As above, with the stock replenishment schedules based on normal consumption it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Even a small percentage of people buying an extra pack of toilet roll, a can or two of beans etc. can cause issues, which then snowball with increasing media coverage and a larger percentage then thinking they better get down the supermarket before it's all gone.

If you want a measure of panic buying, are there any Pot Noodles left?

If the government had any brain cells they would leak that there are vaccine shortages...

These things do have a nasty tendency of becoming a self fulfilling prophesy.

And yes, the toilet roll shelves were conspicuously bare...
You mean I’ll have to use the daily papers again? frown

The papers have ramped it up. Pics of bare shelves, usual lies.
They showed a picture on the BBC of completely empty shelves and baskets at an aldi. The reason why they were empty was because it was the promotion change day and it was the middle aisle.

Fake news.

Yeah it’s truly irresponsible. Last few years they’ve become seriously fake, about all sorts, even previously normal news outlets like the bbc. It’s just an endless merry-go-round of rise and fall, good and bad, panic and reassurance etc

It’s all total bks and they’re all completely untrustworthy

I was looking for ginger beer and noticed that all the water was gone. Multi packs, one litre bottles, the small ones, the lot.

What's wrong with the stuff out of the taps?

Fekin idiots.

Went to Sainsbury's this afternoon. Beer stocks were worryingly low.

Some fruit and veg not as plentiful as usual, mushrooms looked a bit sad, but other than that I got all I needed.

No signs of panic buying.

I'm in a fairly touristy area. The local small supermarket was looking very empty indeed.

In this case they said it was because of all the staycationers hoovering up all the supplies.

Our local co-op was pretty empty both yesterday and today, out of fresh fruit and veg completely, as well as oddly enough pork scratchings.
Not much bread either, not even the manky cheapo white loaves people seem to buy.

Sainsbury's were well stocked at 14.30 ish today, a few empty spaces but nothing out of stock that we usually buy.

They had loads of toilet rolls.

Many JS staff not wearing face masks though.

There's no shortage of supermarkets in my area, I've two Aldi's a Lidl, Tesco, Sainsbury's and at least three Coops.
It's all bloody fake news.

It’s ( yet another ) system for the feckless to play. As per usual, it appears they have worked it out already.

There are no shortages in my locale, but I’m not living in an area that’s particularly troubled by a large amount of folk who would ‘play the game’. Shortage of HGV drivers? Do me a favour, it’s a shortage of cheaper ‘continental’ HGV drivers, and the impossibility of filling the hole, because no self respecting U.K. driver would do the job for ‘Continental’ pay. The haulage industry dug themselves a massive hole, now they’re laying in it.

It's a combination of the track n trace app forcing people into isolation and a shortage of hgv drivers after Brexit
A massive shortage of HGV drivers mate... Shockingly short of drivers. Not like we had one at the supermarket I work at (as a HGV driver) sacked for gross misconduct. For the shocking crime... Of using his vape in a layby on his break - outside the cab.

I live in Warwickshire, and I have Crohns disease. The tap water around here causes my condition to flare, so I drink bottled water exclusively. Have tried a Brita filter, but I still have problems. I usually get through around 6-8 5 litre cartons a week.

I don't know what they do to the water around here, but back at my parents in Wales I can drink water from the tap. I currently have enough bottled to last me into the weekend, and I'm actively considering driving down and filling a load of cartons to bring back!

Couldn’t process an order of Donald Russell steaks earlier today. She told me it was a temporary computer problem and someone would call me right back.

Yes sure, 11hrs later, still waiting...

At this rate I’ll actually have to go into Morrisons, the horror!
