Bwahahaha! His argument is that UK currency held by Scots will magically transform into a new Scottish currency because, well, someone rounded up all the UK pounds in Scotland and swapped them for Scottish ones. That's a bit like saying if I take all your real money and swap it for Monopoly money then that Monopoly money magically becomes worth something.

That's it - that is all that video says. He's advocating for a separate Scottish currency and completely ignoring that it will tank in value from day 1 because it is based on a small, badly-run economy, and that is before you take into account the fiscal flight caused by people moving their (worth something) UK pounds out of Scotland before the newly independent Scottish Government decides to take the (worth something) UK pounds off them and replace them with the (soon to be worth-less) Scottish ones.

I am starting to wonder if deadslow is a parody account as no-one can be really that stupid. I am also though grateful to him for posting up one of the reasons why the silent majority know Scottish independence is economic suicide, and for what - so that he can dance around in abject poverty shouting 'freedum'.

MMT worked fine... until it didn't. We got a bit smashed by all the inflation of printing money recently. Ah well, it's only likely to be an issue every few generations in Scotland (given they're 4 years).
