Seems the 30 year old Arran ferry is fked again https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-wes...

Remember this is the one that was supposed to be replaced by Glen Sannox. Under the nasty Thatcher and Major Caledonian Isles would have been in a scrapyard by now.

Chapter 24 And anyone who doesn’t agree with me is either Transphobic, misogynist or racist. Or possibly all 3 simultaneously.

According to the Telegraph Sturgeon has said critics of her self-ID plans were "deeply misogynist, often homophobic, possibly some of them racist as well".

Ludicrous. How out of touch with public opinion can she get ?

I'd love to see her working on which particular race or races of people were being discriminated against by those opposing the gender reform bill.

I mean, given she said it in public to a reporter, I'm sure she would be able to back that assertion up with facts.

Or was she just flinging red meat and ad homs to the imbeciles behind her?

Adam Graham’s presumably now self identifying as Black.

A continuation of the trend of diminishing true racism by calling absolutely everything you don't agree with 'racist'

Seems the thought of leading the Scottish National Investment Bank while being worked from the back by Sturgeon is unatttractive enough that £260k a year is not enough to attract any candidates. CEO job still vacant after the last person decided she didn't want the job any more.

I'll do it.

Its not like anyone is really stupid enough to exchange their globally renowned hard currency into fake money.

Maybe it should be one of the triggers for independence.

Get enough gullible people to transfer all their assets, income etc from GBP into Sturgeon$ and we see how that pans out over a few years.

Methinks he will happily exchange your GBP's into a currency with his face on it.
Actually, It doesn't surprise me that Sturgeon is so vain - she wants her noggin on the front or back of every currency note and coin.

Brendan O'Neill makes a fair point. If Sturgeon believes that any man can self ID as a women and is thereafter a woman why is she denying a woman the right to serve her sentence in a female jail. After the likes of JK Rowling got death threats when they said transwomen were not women.

" I would like to ask Sturgeon: Do you think Bryson is a woman? Do you think his self-identification as female makes him female? If you do, why haven’t you put him in a women’s prison? And if you don’t, will you finally admit that JK Rowling and the many other critics of self-ID have a point when they say men are not women? "

Seems it's a trends. Well respected career railwayman Chris Gibb walked away from his job at Chief Exec of Scottish Rail Holdings, which was created by the Government to oversee and manage the new nationalised Scotrail. There's plenty of speculation that it was due to Political interference and micro-management by the Government. Rather than let railway professionals run the railway effectively for them, under their policy and in their vision, the temptation was too great that 'nationalisation' actually meant having a toy trainset that could be pushed and played with on political whim, most likely without much regard to implications for operational costs, planning or operating the railway with some basic professional competence.

Sounds a bit like having a toy ferry company. Or toy airport. Or toy fabrication yard..

Piece in 'REACTION' worth a read....

Trans debacle is the end of the line for Nicola Sturgeon.

REACTION said:
What woman in Scotland would feel justified now in voting SNP? Did Sturgeon simply bend to opinion polls and public opinion, or has she had a visit from the men in tartan suits? The latter seems unlikely, since she has a Putinesque grip on her party. But SNP politicians must by now be calculating that if this out-of-control loose cannon is not stopped soon, then their chances of winning a Holyrood election, when they are already a minority government, will be nil.

Krankie’s coat is hanging on a very shaky nail and it is her own addiction to student union politics that has caused her political demise. Whatever happens now, the cult of Sturgeon is over; she is a busted flush. The broader prognosis for her party is similarly dire. This latest prison scandal has utterly deflated any separatist hopes of getting up a cry against the UK government’s Section 35 order blocking Sturgeon’s lunacy.

I just hope to god that we never see or hear of this obnoxious individual once she has packed her bags and departed our shores. A law should also be passed that it is a serious criminal offence to make reference to her in any shape or form once she’s gone , as her legacy is one of utter destruction and embarrassment to the country.

Most decent people dont have any time for her, only the xenophobes and racists keep her in power.

Unfortunately Scotland has plenty.

Great to see Ms Deans back with regular blogs.

Sturgeon has nowhere to go, but neither does Scotland unless people start voting on issues other than independence. But quite soon it may become clear to everyone that the SNP simply does not have the support to push for independence and then Scottish nationalists may begin to actually care that rapists end up in women’s prison’s and there is no ferry connection to their island. Complacency and the sense that it didn’t matter how it ruled because it would always win eventually destroyed Scottish Labour. Nicola Sturgeon has the same tragic flaw for which reason the same fate awaits.

But if you keep winning no matter how badly you run Scotland you begin to think that eventual independence is somehow foreordained and inevitable.
Deadslow, Strocky - this is you.

Independence is not 'inevitable. It is not even legally possible, and it certainly isn't going to come about naturally as a result of Westminster politics, as our resident single-issuers keep asserting despite the passage of time making their assertions look more idiotic, because Westminster politics has the ability to reset itself (and a reset appears to be coming).

Meanwhile, in other news (and as I predicted), the Deposit Return Scheme is faltering because the proposed framework is unworkable. The quango set-up by the Scottish Government to administer it - Circularity Scotland - has been deemed insolvent by HMRC meaning that the licensed trade is legally forbidden from dealing with it, so drinks producers cannot get the necessary labling for their products.

The Scottish Government, after having given a cash-injection to Circulatory Scotland that seems to have been frittered away on consultancy fees (whodathunkit), anticipated that the scheme would be self-funding via an amount creamed-off the deposits (effectively a stealth-tax on the food and drinks manufacturers), but a total lack of participation (with many producers just saying they will stop selling in Scotland as the costs and paperwork aren't worth it, with some smaller producers saying they could actually face a loss by selling in Scotland under the scheme) means that it is dying.

It'll be interesting if the SNP government see fit to throw more money at the scheme, or if they just let it whither.

There will be the usual indynuts who will perceive a distinct lack of familiar brands on the shelves should the scheme ever materialise as ant-Scottish politcking, but of course the companies concerned are acting through economics rather than politics and don't care if the Scottish Resistance and their ilk start making sweary banners about them. It isn't going to solve the problem of the Scottish market becoming unviable because once again the Scottish Government will not listen to sensible discourse over how to run the scheme and the unintended consequences of their ignorant arrogance.

Notice that burger is keeping an ultra low profile just now, strangely correlates with most of her cabal, many of who are normally highly vociferous are hardly uttering a word.

I can imagine some big Squirrel is currently under construction ready for imminent release into the environment.
