Presumably yesterday’s focus on who got what in cabinet took the focus off this…?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-cen...
That is unbelievable! But I mean, obviously, it was the bastit toooarrries that made them do it.
That story was covered on Radio 4 last night and they interviewed an SNP politician who actually said it was "proof of the pressure the call handling unit was under" (or words to that effect)

To which the interviewer didn't offer any challenge ....
That’s a disgrace who has been prosecuted for introducing it !!

She won her seat as an SNP MP. She got kicked out of the party for the breach.
First test of Humza?
Labour will be pushing hard for this seat.

So you have to ask yourself who would benefit from response figures looking better than they really are, and there's only three logical answers: heads of policing, heads of state and owners of a private company contracted to provide public services; was Bilston Glen a private contract?

Edited by hiccy18 on Thursday 30th March 09:01
Bilston Glen is a police control room. Usually a mix of police and civilian staff but all direct police employees.

This is police management all the way. I'm just surprised at how blatent.

The only private contract is the company that supplies the software.

The way it is done by the non existent callsign is someone that knows how the system works.
Stephen House; another fine mess created and rewarded for it with a knighthood.

I saw this as well...he's an angry man, that's because he knows he's useless and everyone else knows he's useless so outbursts like this is him tyring to cover-up his insecurities by acting all shouty and agressive...kind of like how dog growls and barks at you till you boot it in the nad's.

1. Shona Robison, the new Deputy First Minister, will take on the Finance portfolio, including responsibility for the Scottish Budget

2. Michael Matheson becomes the Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care

3. Jenny Gilruth joins Cabinet for the first time as Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills

4. Màiri McAllan joins Cabinet for the first time as Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero and Just Transition

5. Neil Gray joins Cabinet for the first time as Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work and Energy

6. Mairi Gougeon remains Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands

7. Angus Robertson remains Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture

8. Shirley-Anne Somerville becomes Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice

9. Angela Constance returns to Cabinet as the new Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs

I don't know what all the doom and gloom is about now that the new leader has appointed these wonderful, trustworthy people, dedicated to providing Scots with a progressive future e.g. DRS saving the planet: lots more cash to ensure shipbuilding on the Clyde never finishes and so on and education and the NHS will become the best in the world. And not forgetting Independence, we must not forget the struggle for freedom.

Yes, we Scots are so lucky to have these talented representatives. Burger, Strocky and deadslow must be so proud. Wonderful times ahead.
I picked one name off that list at random.

Never had a real job, never studied or been involved with or has enough experience of anything related to what they're now in charge of.

I went through them all the other night - I don't think any have worked in the private sector. The maximum length in any non political/government job seemed to be about 5 to 8 years, and most were only a few years in a "normal" public sector job. Most, if not all, have plenty higher education - often a couple of courses, and with the word "social" in the name.

Irrespective of that they are clearly a very diverse group of highly experienced individuals well placed to represent, and make critical decisions for, the people of Scotland.

I caught up on FMQs this evening. If you read a transcript or obscured the voice, it could have been Sturgeon. The Bingo card filled up "Toaries", "Westminster", "I'll take no lessons from *", "independence", "levers", "Brexit", "Covid" "EU" (don't think we had "against our will" though. Very triggered and shouty. It'll not last well.

I’m no fan, but angry? I dunno…I think that would be viewed as ‘passionate’ by most viewers?

The man is a clown but there are so many worse things about him than his debating style.

Passion implies dedication and deep commitment to a cause or group, based on intimate knowledge and inherent motivations.

Yousless is a brainless, incompetent, racist grifter. His only dedication and deep commitment is to himself and his own political career. He shouts in the manner he does when challenged is because he might get exposed by scrutiny as a brainless, incompetent, racist grifter. Continuity Sturgeon candidate - she became a bit shouty when challenged as well.

And then there are people like Penny, intelligent, talented, respectful, a fantastic orator and loves to tell the SNP exactly how it is.

Imagine her as FM and compare to what we have, and what is coming along the track.

Yousless's debating style is depressingly predictable. Calm, fully rehearsed response to pre-submitted question, followed by overbearing tirade of nationalist tropes (most of which are cribbed word-for-word from his predecessor) accompanied by aggressive gesticulation in response to follow-up question. Even his own group can be seen cringing at his OTT aggression.

He's gong to need some media training soon or someone is going to trigger him into saying or doing something excessively stupid on camera.

It isn't passion - it is condescension and arrogance.

Inept government in Scotland is like gun violence in the USA.

We might look on from the outside in complete bafflement, but sooner or later we have to come to terms with the fact that this is simply the way they want it.

Yes it's nuts, but it's their say-so, and they say so.
