Meanwhile, India announces it will increase coal production to 1577 million tonnes by 2030

Funny how they spend all that time in London but don't seem to be able to locate their embassy.

Possibly including the legendary Almond Soya Milk cold turkey.

Saw that and it really made me laugh.

UN is pretty useless these days really. If it isn't pointing out the obvious its the UNHC being gamed by Russia and CHina moving developing nations votes like pawns.

Ian Fry, the UN special rapporteur, looks just like you'd expect.

And he doesn't look like the sort with any actual belief in 'freedom of expression', unless it means agreeing with him.

His remit/brief is climate change not human rights or freedom of expression. So supporting JSO is kind of predicatable.

That's odd, with JSO's (and XR's, IB's etc) leadership it's all about anti-capitalism, climate is a fashionable fig leaf for the means to achieve societal change ends.

Is anti-capitalism in Fry's brief? Probably; as we were.

Oh dear. What shall we do? It appears that JSO don't understand that the London Metropolitan Police have powers of arrest in relation to breaches of the Public Order Act.

6 months for slow marching...clap

Apart from a few fundamentalists I am sure the vast majority will be pleased that the Gov. are finally getting to grips with principle that protesting is fine but fking up everybody else's life while doing it is not.

Definitely seems like a sensible use of the prison services time and money when a tagging order would’ve had the same effect.

This guy?

Protester Stephen Gingell, 56, a business owner and father of three from Manchester, said: “I don’t want my beautiful boys to suffer horribly and their lives to be cut short with food shortages and riots due to climate collapse. The brutal truth is more burning of oil and gas is an act of genocide. The oil companies and the government know this. So why are they leading us into this slaughter?

“This week I climbed into the pipework of an oil refinery to shut it down. I’d never done anything remotely like that before. But I’m going to continue doing whatever it takes to stop new oil and gas.”

Tagging order eh..

The hyperbole in the various statements in the article is very impressive. I couldn't have said any of it whilst keeping a straight face.
