This is a build for a customer of my mate,Peter Thurston.
The customer wanted to go historic racing and already had this base car .
A 1963 series 1 Jaguar E type 3.8 roadster LHD .
Going for FIA spec with full alloy front ,doors, boot lid and a hard top
Colour will be Opalescent Dark Blue .
The vast majority of the work will be carried out in house .

Cleaning up the shell and they have found old damage and bodged repairs.
They probably drilled holes then used screws and a slide hammer and finally covered it in filler .
The old damage will be cut out and new metal fabricated and welded in .

Awesome, the place i still help out at now built an FIA series one for the HSCC and it ended up being a glorious thing, roaster with alu hardtop, bonnet and boot. One of my favourite cars and very fond memories. Will look forward to seeing this progress.

Peter the cars builder had a visit from my cousin Lee Follet of FG Race Fabrications yesterday to do an initial inspection and measurement for fabrication of the roll cage .
Lee has done work for Peter before on his 2CV8 race car .

To buy one in is about £2k .
It's basic old school bodyshop work so no reason not to be done in house ,and save a fair chunk of money .
Hopefully the hard top will arrive tomorrow. The hard top has a vent built in . This vent will be replicated to scale on the boot lid .
Peter the builder is very good at the technical stuff but is very particular about the aesthetics of whatever he builds or restores .
