I'm glad she's been convicted but 20yrs with little in the way of remission is a long sentence for this offence compared to Britain.
The Americans appear particularly vengeful with regard to certain crimes. Compared to the UK or not, it's a big sentence.

Isn’t the whole point to persuade the accused to do a deal? In this case, she held out for acquittal and accepted the downside risk of a long sentence.

Maybe, but I'm sure you could 'deal' with British justice in a not dissimilar way? And what would happen if there's no deal possible, ie the law has caught up with all those involved already? Straight to life in Super Max?

Is anybody watching the 3 part documentary tat's on Ch4 currently?

Certainly the best expose I've seen on the subject.

Would it be out of place to say it's got some beautiful women featured in it?

Epstein's client documents of 200 names to be unsealed and released after midnight tonight (US time).

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/jan/01/je...

Could be a few unexpected celebrity deaths for the 2024 thread.

Well if Trump flew to the island we'd heard about it before now..

Lots of high powered names no doubt but, you know... nothing will be said or done.

Pardon me for being ignorant; what is the implication of being named on this list, that they in all likelihood banged children? Or is it less cut and dry than that.

Well, that all depends on what side of the political aisle those names fall under.

Anyone considered to be a libertarian, centrist or right of centre is, of course, a full-on, child raping pedo who eats newborn babies, even if their plane had to make an emergency landing near the island years before Epstein even bought the place.

For others such as Bill Clinton or Joe Biden, irrespective of the strength of any and all evidence, even the merest suggestion that they were in anyway involved or ever frequented one of Epstein’s bunga-bunga parties, will be nothing more than Russian disinformation and far-right conspiracy theories perpetrated by MAGA extremists and dangerous Christian fundamentalists, who have links to white supremacist neo-Nazis, anti vaxes, climate change deniers and flat-earthers.

So playing the whining, lying, ineffectual victims as usual. Diddums.

Is this going to be the same "notebook" of names which has floated around for years - 90-page pdf?
