I’m factually correct, you just have to be careful with your words.
Is average house price going up or down? It's not a trick question.
The rate of increase has slowed, somewhat inevitably at this point but useful as a caveat if one is wanted.

Certainly locally there are properties that are just sitting unsold even after a couple of price drops, though often there's a reason for it when you look in detail. A while back even those were being snapped up.
Further up in price brackets it's still moving due to people moving away from cities due to wfh shifts, now finding themselves priced out of eg Cotswolds and looking further afield into say Hereford and Worcestershire, which then affects the next area and so knocks on elsewhere.
Having said that some of the price expectations from big developers are at levels previously unheard of locally. Pointless to mention numbers as what seems ridiculous in one place is mega cheap elsewhere.
Couple more from last nights Asda visit.
Multipack crisp, always been 3 for £3, now 3 for £3.75.
Asda bacon, same price, but now only get 10 instead of 12.
Uncle Bens rice, always been 2 for £1.89 or 2 for £2 since I've been buying them weekly (almost a year), now it's £1.25 each, no offer on.

No that’s incorrect
The rate of the annual growth is easing.
There are no negative growth/falls

If June CPI figures come out at 9.0%, have prices fallen?

Not factually correct - pedantically correct perhaps. Though your original statement didn't refer to annual growth falls.

It did. I also quoted the last 3 months of falling annual growth. If June CPI figures come out at 9.0%, have prices fallen?

Nationwide releases it’s monthly house price data this week.
Over the last 3 months consistent price falls have been pulling the annual average down. Mar 14.3%, Apr 12.1%, May 11.2%.
Will it continue or have a rebound? Which dog is going to have 2 dicks?

Good news surely? I mean everyone wks themselves into a frenzy over rising house prices, so this must be good news too?Multipack crisp, always been 3 for £3, now 3 for £3.75.

Because price rises of essential commodities are a good thing it seems?
You're confused. Or perverse. Or possibly both. There's a difference between pointing out Throttlebody's rubbish about prices falling and saying rising prices are a good thing.

Consistent falls in the monthly price data are significantly reducing the annual growth. Easy to grasp.
Yet completely wrong...There are no 'falls in the monthly price data' - monthly pricing has increased month on month.
Dunning-kruger was written for you.

But most non-thinkers reckon house price rises are a good thing.
It’s easy to see why people get so triggered with a property price correction, they’ve built their financial futures around it. The Central Banks have been the core issue. Too much focus on inflation for consumers and not enough on controlling excessive asset price inflation. Correction time and credibility loss.
